I wouldn't recommend the small tubular ones since they tend to flex, wiggle and shake a lot, even with a light load of a phone

however my gripe with the flexible arm ones is that they tend to lose their rigidity after a year of use, but that seems to be a better option

most use the standard tripod threads iirc
