Here's a closer pic

It'll do a good enough job if you're not keen on just getting a stone and doing it by hand.

2017-03-27 19:08:41 UTC

I dunno if you can replace the files in them, though. Pretty sure they're meant to be disposable.

2017-03-27 19:09:06 UTC

Oh nice. It's three different grits.

2017-03-27 19:09:24 UTC

Yeah, as long as it doesn't fall apart that'll be pretty nice.

2017-03-27 19:09:49 UTC

any guides on how to file disputes on ali express (what to do/what not to do)? I Bought a Megir watch which mostly works but part of it sticks out because its broken and hurts my poor hand

2017-03-27 19:10:04 UTC

Thank you @Valkrys !

2017-03-27 19:11:06 UTC

No problem. Yeah if you have a blunt knife to sharpen, you start with the coarsest one, then work you're way down to the polisher. Trick is to make sure you keep the blade square, and consistently use the same angle.

2017-03-27 19:11:39 UTC

Yeah that'll take some training

2017-03-27 19:11:44 UTC

Is it hard generally?

2017-03-27 19:12:12 UTC

I don't think so, but not everyone has good motor skills. It's a lot harder to fuck up with one of those things though.

2017-03-27 19:12:30 UTC

I'm glad to hear

2017-03-27 19:13:37 UTC

Wet stones are the beat, though, man. Would turn garbage knives into excellent meat trimming tools. They just didn't hold an edge worth a fuck.

2017-03-27 19:14:14 UTC

so the only downside of TN is viewing angle?

2017-03-27 19:14:21 UTC

Sooooo.... Go or nogo?

2017-03-27 19:14:35 UTC

I'm a newb, just ordered my two first knives

2017-03-27 19:14:36 UTC

How much is it?

2017-03-27 19:14:49 UTC

9$ USD with shipping

2017-03-27 19:14:59 UTC

Shit, there's no reason not to get it.

2017-03-27 19:15:11 UTC

Here's a link for you

2017-03-27 19:15:17 UTC

If you're interested

2017-03-27 19:15:35 UTC

does that really work?

2017-03-27 19:15:56 UTC

Yeah they work.

2017-03-27 19:16:12 UTC

better than a sharpening stone? or just easier

2017-03-27 19:16:18 UTC

No.

2017-03-27 19:16:26 UTC

Easier more convenient.

2017-03-27 19:16:34 UTC

might get one

2017-03-27 19:17:14 UTC

That one looks pretty nice actually, since it has the 3 different grades. The one I used before just has the one 45 degree file wedge.

2017-03-27 19:17:43 UTC

And you had to hold it in a way where you had a distinct likelihood of cutting yourself.

2017-03-27 19:17:58 UTC

Sounds quite dangerous

2017-03-27 19:18:34 UTC

It looked like a kite handle with the file on one corner running parallel with the handle.

2017-03-27 19:18:53 UTC

god damn

2017-03-27 19:18:59 UTC

Yeah, haha.

2017-03-27 19:19:51 UTC

Only place I use regular knives is as Kelloggs where we have stones and grinders. Otherwise I use a utility knife with razor blades.

2017-03-27 19:20:30 UTC

Oh

2017-03-27 19:20:48 UTC

I bought some knives because I want to get into whittling

2017-03-27 19:20:56 UTC

That shit is fun.

2017-03-27 19:21:05 UTC

It sounds fun

2017-03-27 19:21:13 UTC

Did it in a class in high school.

2017-03-27 19:21:25 UTC

Did you get kicked out of class?
