I'm willing to provide them with the care they need

@I LOVE GCD So it's a Longines Master chrono knockoff - to the point of the logo being a knockoff as well. Get a new strap and it's okay or even good if you paid less than $30. Does it say anything about the movement? I'd assume it's a Miyota Os-20. The chrono seconds tick, right?

Could I buy a Raspberry Pi 3 on AliesExpress?

2017-04-19 13:14:09 UTC

Is it so much cheaper that the risk of getting chinked is worth it?

2017-04-19 13:14:20 UTC

Not really

2017-04-19 13:14:55 UTC

Why not get an orange pi 🤔

2017-04-19 13:15:19 UTC

Why is that one better?

2017-04-19 13:15:59 UTC

From the little I know orange pi isn't better, it's worse, but cost significantly less

2017-04-19 13:16:04 UTC

It's $15 cheaper

2017-04-19 13:16:21 UTC

at the cost of being slightly worse with fewer distros

2017-04-19 13:16:53 UTC

What distros are left out?

2017-04-19 13:17:14 UTC

I think it's easier to list what it *does* have <:thonk:288060975775612929>

2017-04-19 13:17:24 UTC

iirc, it has armbian and ubuntu

2017-04-19 13:17:41 UTC

maybe arch linux arm

2017-04-19 13:17:44 UTC

I mostly use Ubuntu anyway

2017-04-19 13:18:01 UTC

I got it to work on my PC after nuking Windows 10

2017-04-19 13:18:06 UTC

have to say Ubuntu is kind of slow

2017-04-19 13:18:09 UTC

Sorry not sorry

2017-04-19 13:18:21 UTC

I have an orange pi pc

2017-04-19 13:18:23 UTC

it's OK

2017-04-19 13:19:05 UTC

you have to use armbian though, they added a lot of tweaks and fixes

2017-04-19 13:19:18 UTC

I'm thinking about Raspberry Pi 3 anyway

2017-04-19 13:19:26 UTC

Gonna use it as a cloud probably

2017-04-19 13:19:29 UTC

What do you guys use it for

2017-04-19 13:19:47 UTC

NFS share, ampache host

2017-04-19 13:20:02 UTC

it's really low power

2017-04-19 13:21:11 UTC

I figured that out too

2017-04-19 13:21:16 UTC

It has 3 USB ports + USB OTG that you can use as a device port too

2017-04-19 13:21:20 UTC

Never quite got why so many people like it

2017-04-19 13:21:49 UTC

it's cheaper than an rpi and doesn't hang everything off a usb hub

2017-04-19 13:22:02 UTC

but software support is a bit hit and miss

2017-04-19 13:23:02 UTC

It does look like it yeah

2017-04-19 13:23:03 UTC

pi3 is £32, opi PC is £15

2017-04-19 13:33:33 UTC

it doesnt have wifi, afaik

2017-04-19 13:34:03 UTC

yeah orange pi doesn't have wifi

2017-04-19 13:34:18 UTC

if you're just using it to host stuff, just connect it to the router? <:thonk:288060975775612929>

2017-04-19 13:34:55 UTC

>not just throwing it in some trash-filled corner of your manchild cave
