Sounds risky

2017-08-04 17:12:18 UTC

no. A good one should not go above 40 deg C

2017-08-04 17:19:21 UTC

On second evaluation, it's probably around the 40C region

2017-08-04 17:21:08 UTC

not gonna charge this fucker unattended anyhow

2017-08-04 17:21:41 UTC

I have one of them

2017-08-04 17:21:46 UTC

lemme see if I can find it

2017-08-04 17:27:48 UTC

Have I been chinked

2017-08-04 17:28:47 UTC

Tbh I probably should wait for my panasonics to get here to see whether it's the high resistance of this ICR18650 causing it

2017-08-04 17:29:13 UTC

It's the one that came with the gongtian, for the record

2017-08-04 17:42:12 UTC

Try charging it with the gongtian

2017-08-04 17:42:23 UTC

does that get hot while charging?

2017-08-04 17:43:40 UTC

probably not since usb charging is slower

2017-08-04 17:43:49 UTC

I don't think it ever got hot over usb

2017-08-04 17:44:08 UTC

the battery itself doesn't get hot, it's just the charger terminals on the nitecore

2017-08-04 17:46:57 UTC

i bought a HY-V9B amplifier and it sucks

2017-08-04 17:47:59 UTC

@transience probably the nitecore then

2017-08-04 17:48:09 UTC

sounds alright, equalizers are weird, post eq bass and treble adjustments are weird.

2017-08-04 17:48:31 UTC

the USB port in the back promises 1A and provides about 0.07A

2017-08-04 17:48:57 UTC

in reality the voltage is a square wave between 4V and 5V at about 22Hz

2017-08-04 17:49:23 UTC

the protection diode and resistor is causing the regulator to drop out at that frequency. ill try to bypass it

2017-08-04 17:58:08 UTC

actually they installed the wrong resistor. for the circuit to limit the current at 1A it needs to be 5.3 ohms, lets say 4.7 for a good margin and to be standard

2017-08-04 17:58:16 UTC

there is a 47 ohm actually installed

2017-08-04 17:58:19 UTC

i got chinked

Do you have a death wish?

2017-08-04 18:08:30 UTC

@something
>not opening chink electronics to check if it's a deathtrap

2017-08-04 18:12:34 UTC

It's max 12 v in there

2017-08-04 18:13:10 UTC

They don't even include a power supply. You need to use your own so I bought I cheap monitor 12v 5a supply

2017-08-04 18:13:56 UTC

No need to check whether it's a death trap. It always is.

2017-08-04 18:14:03 UTC

But one opens up to behold the spectacle.

Meizu Pro 7 with snappy

2017-08-04 18:18:03 UTC

do they come with the /biz/ qt?
