Scott convinced me that the HK/CETME/G3/PTR (all the same gun basically) platform was the best. German as fuck, reliable and accurate as hell, and fires .308. MP5 is a smaller scale version of it. They look so good with wooden furniture. Better than AK/AR in every way but weight.

I might build a G3 w/ a 14 in barrel.

Something semi auto, compact and w/ more power than an AR/AK could provide.

How would you find an original G3? Or the smaller barrel?

I will get a PTR 91, they bought up the blueprints and a lot of parts. American made German engineering. Considered the best you can get now. Century Arms made a cheaper version, the C308 but I hear the PTR is well worth the extra few hundred.

I can't say enough good about my Kel Tec RFB. Amazing .308! Accurate as hell and I can shoot left handed! I want a .300 Blk out with a silencer for close quarters. Dreams right now.

True, I've read on the FAL and the PTR, and I lean PTR. The gas system with the FAL is complex, more to fail. The HK is built with little parts and can run dirty. It's like an AK in that it has that rugged dependability and ease of use. Not much to worry about. You don't even clean it much for it to run good. Looks clean as hell. Especially with wood.

Is .300 black out a larger, more powerful round? By a lot?

Also a G3/CETME can fare well in mud.

All you have to do is let the mud dry and presto!
