pretty cool

2017-12-03 23:09:59 UTC

it could be good to have a virtual assistant in chinese because then i could practice my chinese day to day which would be helpful and i could also talk to it and have no one else understand which would be edgy

2017-12-03 23:10:26 UTC

if its released in english ill probably buy one international and one chinese version so i can use both even tho that sounds counter intuitive

2017-12-03 23:10:41 UTC

the english one will be set up with all my mi devices since the chinese one has naming issues

2017-12-03 23:10:57 UTC

but ill use the chinese one to check weather and stuff daily so i can speak and listen for practice

2017-12-03 23:11:05 UTC

mfw big waste of money but i dont care

2017-12-03 23:11:43 UTC

Isn't Pinyin pretty easy to use once you know how to speak chinese?

2017-12-03 23:11:56 UTC

yeah pinyin is super easy

2017-12-03 23:12:08 UTC

it has a shorter alphabet than english too

2017-12-03 23:12:15 UTC

Classic Shell will go Open Source
Windows 10 updating frequenly being a major hurdle for the CS dev
Seems to be Fall creators update of windows 10 to be the last officially supported release for Classic Shell

2017-12-03 23:12:22 UTC

but like characters and speech take time just because of memorization

2017-12-03 23:12:39 UTC

all characters are different but they have some similar strokes to give you an idea of what it is

2017-12-03 23:13:00 UTC

but speaking is rough, if you dont meorise which words have which tones no one can understand you

2017-12-03 23:13:24 UTC

if i forget a ton and im talking to someone i usually just say the word in four different tones until they figure out what im trying to say

2017-12-03 23:13:56 UTC

unlike english where we just go by sound they go by tone and they get confused if you say a word with the wrong tone seems weird to us but pretty normal for them

2017-12-03 23:14:04 UTC

tho chink grammar is super easy to pick up

2017-12-03 23:14:09 UTC

waaaayyyy easier than english grammart

2017-12-03 23:14:37 UTC

how long have you been learning chinese?

2017-12-03 23:14:47 UTC

Tonal languages sound like a trip.

2017-12-03 23:14:54 UTC

2017-12-03 23:17:41 UTC

@Gratzl eh well this year i havent really been learning much because too busy with college but i try and stay on top of what i already know. i started learning in 2012 i think tho

2017-12-03 23:19:06 UTC

about 5 almost 6 years or so

2017-12-03 23:24:11 UTC

why is everything besides smartphones xiaomi sells expensive as shit

2017-12-03 23:24:28 UTC

it isnt really

2017-12-03 23:25:01 UTC

it is online tho like i bought xiaomi stuff at the mi store in china and it was like dirt cheap i got a battery there for like $7 and it was $35 on goybeast

2017-12-03 23:25:03 UTC

Purifiers, humidifiers, robot vacuums are all pretty expensive compared to competitors

2017-12-03 23:25:12 UTC

yeah that stuff expensive

2017-12-03 23:25:34 UTC

but its not like awful tho like 400 bucks for a vacuum isnt too bad considering some guy for like 800+

2017-12-03 23:25:44 UTC

Was thinking of getting a humidifier but that shit is more expensive than my ilife robot vacuum

2017-12-03 23:25:53 UTC

plus im a loyal fanboy so i buy anything xiaomi puts out without question

2017-12-03 23:25:55 UTC

that guy is retarded

2017-12-03 23:26:07 UTC

he couldve gotten an ilife for 150 bucks

2017-12-03 23:26:15 UTC

they have the humidifier for like $20 tho

2017-12-03 23:26:36 UTC

I like xiaomi as well, it's just that when they advertised as selling smartphones at a near bill of material price I thought it would be similar for their other products

2017-12-03 23:26:37 UTC

oh well

2017-12-03 23:26:43 UTC

Xiaomi stuff is actually decent so you're probably paying for quality

2017-12-03 23:26:47 UTC

$28my bad\

2017-12-03 23:27:21 UTC

yeah ive never had a problem with any of my xiaomi stuff. im always impressed with the quality for the price and i have yet to ever have an issue or feel like something wasnt worth it
