Look for jobs in steel companies if there's any around. Pretty good starting pay with that shit

2017-05-01 22:29:33 UTC

But we can get them fired. And I may get OSHA.

2017-05-01 22:29:59 UTC

Or specifically this special type of OSHA clearance that allows me to inspect places.

2017-05-01 22:30:02 UTC

How do I tag people in this shit

2017-05-01 22:30:06 UTC
2017-05-01 22:30:07 UTC

Wait

2017-05-01 22:30:08 UTC

Got it

2017-05-01 22:30:20 UTC

Like this gypsum mine far from my house.

2017-05-01 22:30:46 UTC

Or even car dealerships.

2017-05-01 22:30:49 UTC

I'm a green welder (out of school just 5 months ago and been working). I'm in OH and going to move to Missouri/AK (ozarks) by the end of the year. I was wondering if there was any specific unions or industries I should shoot for, if anyone would know.

2017-05-01 22:30:58 UTC

Also hello all

2017-05-01 22:31:11 UTC

Hey

2017-05-01 22:31:27 UTC

For welding, get into pipefitting or pressure equipment.

2017-05-01 22:31:37 UTC

Welding? Go for oil pipeline jobs

2017-05-01 22:31:47 UTC

Got a friend who does that who makes about 100k / year

2017-05-01 22:31:47 UTC

I've been in the welding business a long time.

2017-05-01 22:32:02 UTC

^^ will start digging into

2017-05-01 22:32:10 UTC

I did get some basica experience on pipe actually

2017-05-01 22:32:22 UTC

even internal pipe welding from the outside kinda stuff

2017-05-01 22:32:27 UTC

but still basic

2017-05-01 22:34:10 UTC

Usually lots of oil pipeline jobs going in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia as of late

2017-05-01 22:34:59 UTC

New Jersey also has the best ones, covered by the best locals but well good luck getting that unless you uh... "know some people" lol

2017-05-01 22:35:07 UTC

I mean, I could get into the oil pipeline thing, but I plan on having kids by 3 years, and then a new kid every 3 years after that

2017-05-01 22:35:09 UTC

We have a real shortage of Welders now, guys. Recommended occupation. And largely a white industry.

2017-05-01 22:35:26 UTC

^ hell yea! My whole welding class was almost completely white in a super diverse area

2017-05-01 22:36:31 UTC

But yea, pipeline welding requires traveling, and if I want to settle and live on a piece of property and be able to spend time with my children consistently, it won't happen so well if I'm welding on a pipeline

2017-05-01 22:36:38 UTC

that's just not the sort of father I'm willing to be

2017-05-01 22:37:41 UTC

Yeah

2017-05-01 22:38:16 UTC
