So let's talk socket adapters. I have some stuff I might be bringing to Japan that isn't double voltage standard rated, only 220-240V. I understand that I need an adapter that will also convert voltage to use it safely in Nippon.

Any recommend adapters/converters for that purpose?

Also Japan has 2 electrical grids at 2 different frequencies so even if you convert the voltage the frequency might be wrong still

The Japanese Electrical Grid is basically the worst thing in existence

It gets better: Some appliances sold in Japan will only work on one grid and will have giant warnings on them in Japanese and English saying stuff like “FOR USE IN EAST JAPAN ONLY”
