In response to someone on mouth guards. They actually can and do help if you get sucker punched if you have the kind where you have to bite to hold it. The main issue with a sucker punch is that your neck and jew aren't tensed and readied at all. A mouthguard where you are biting down somewhat mitigates that.
I've seen some slackjawed antifa receive an uppercut, almost felt that in my own teeth. Some of the shield guys wear mouthguard, maybe not a bad idea.
