I know what I would do is put eyes on he poll and put spring clasps on the flag to clip it on like the clips you put on a rope on a tall pole

Having a hard time visualizing this for some reason. Seems like the flag loops would be too wide to pin with a screw but I'm sure if I saw it I'd understand.
