Besides we've done so much in the last 30000 years compared to the rest of our time on earth. All thanks to culture, religion, countries and governments.

So what makes you so sure that we can't cure and/or treat mentally ill humans in the future?

That's what puzzles me.

But yes it's so sad that people think this is all humans have to offer in medical and psychological advancement.

And brain surgery and brain experiments on horrible criminals who are mentally ill and have a life sentence should be studied. It would be hard sure but it would be worth it if it meant preventing many innocent lives being taken away. And it would benefit those suffering with the disorder so they will no longer be in such pain.

I wonder if a new successful set of human values will arise or if they'll get worse.

Perhaps the future values would be an amalgamation of cultures. Especially in places like the US and the EU and UK.

Although I doubt the EU would survive which is pretty sad.

Either way, remember that imagination is more important than knowledge. Humans are masters of imagination as it has helped us develop and advance so much throughout the years.

Unfortunately it may be because of materialism we're holding ourselves back so much. But I think the internet and internet culture has helped.
