Remember we got Antifa in here.

2020-01-20 23:48:01 UTC

Or before the world wars

its not as relevant but you can talk about it if you want

i study mostly interwar period and all of ww2

and a little of the gulf wars

2020-01-20 23:49:37 UTC

I've recently started taking an interest in Chinese history from the Xinhai revolution on

2020-01-20 23:50:05 UTC

A Central Powers win ww1 timeline would be a better world but even a no war happening is better than what we have bow

2020-01-20 23:51:30 UTC

Becuase I believe history is a bunch of open ended dialectics, opportunities and great men sometimes I think we're really unlucky for everything going this wrong

2020-01-20 23:51:40 UTC

Liberalism wasn't likely from the start

2020-01-20 23:51:51 UTC

Entirely preventable

2020-01-20 23:52:47 UTC

I'd agree

2020-01-20 23:53:13 UTC

but it's important to remember that we have hindsight

2020-01-20 23:59:58 UTC

I would say and many people on the left would agree that fascism is an inevitability in the 21st century

2020-01-21 00:04:00 UTC

Whether I advocate for it or not it really isn't up to me, the concoction of globalism, migration replacement, a failing welfare state and a disillusioned right wing will usher in a new rise of fascism, how it takes form will be interesting to watch. Donald trump isn't the answer to most right wing people but a step in the right direction. Whether the right breaks off and controls small towns or cities that moves away from the two party system into one party states, people will self segregate themselves along party lines. I'm not sure how long this will take but it seems probable

2020-01-21 00:06:22 UTC

I can see the rural agricultural areas refuse to supply the cities with food and eventually breaking out into civil war. We are Definitely in a cold war as of now..

2020-01-21 00:07:59 UTC

I wouldn't call this the resurrection of fascism given fascisms specifics unless you look at parties like Casa pound in Italy

2020-01-21 00:08:09 UTC

But yeah something is rising

2020-01-21 00:08:41 UTC

It's nationalist, it's populist and it's still in its infancy

2020-01-21 00:11:43 UTC

I would definitely say that the right wing is leaning towards fascism.. I dont see anything wrong with that tho, preservation and order is great for society. Id choose to live in a fascist society over a communist one any day of the week, hell id live in a fascist society now over this current globohomo tolerant mesh we have

2020-01-21 00:13:49 UTC

Idk I just don't see the fascist corporatism and insistence on the totalitarian state (not the liberal meme of it). It's definitely related

2020-01-21 00:14:12 UTC

As it's a form of national populism in the making

2020-01-21 00:17:03 UTC

Well the economy will have to change immensely and profits for smartphone CEOs wont be so huge. I dont think that slave labour in china or somewhere else in the world should be allowed just like I dont think importing 3rd world people to bring down wages should be allowed

2020-01-21 00:17:49 UTC

Yeah but that's not exactly fascist

2020-01-21 00:18:02 UTC

Not against it either

2020-01-21 00:18:28 UTC

Well kinda, an authoritarian will have set laws in place to change the markets behaviour

2020-01-21 00:19:06 UTC

a capitalist economy subject to stringent governmental controls, violent suppression of the opposition, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism. just like the definition implies

2020-01-21 00:19:41 UTC

Corporatism isn't just a regulatory state though

2020-01-21 00:19:57 UTC

There's an emphasis on class unity

2020-01-21 00:20:20 UTC

Abolishing of non state unions

2020-01-21 00:20:51 UTC

Direct meddling in and indirect control of every major corporation etc.

2020-01-21 00:21:10 UTC

In fascism there is an emphasis on class unity

2020-01-21 00:21:19 UTC

Even syndicalist elements

2020-01-21 00:22:17 UTC

national socialists in germany seemed to be pretty successful with their economy

2020-01-21 00:22:23 UTC

we definitely need to curb the power of corporations

2020-01-21 00:22:48 UTC

and set up jobs for people who lose their jobs to automation

2020-01-21 00:23:01 UTC

similar to the great depression work programs and NS germany work programs

2020-01-21 00:23:20 UTC

Corporations have become big government, or just an arm for the bought off elements of government

2020-01-21 00:24:41 UTC

Nationalize the corporations

2020-01-21 00:25:00 UTC

no more 3rd world migrants, no more sweat shops

2020-01-21 00:26:01 UTC

I like the Chinese way of handling corporations

2020-01-21 00:26:02 UTC

they can still innovate in the confines of the country, but no more profits off the labour of kids and sweat shops
