Also this channel is for activism

2017-11-19 20:22:48 UTC

Make banners out of this

2017-11-19 20:24:05 UTC

Since those are 8x10 you can make one banner or maybe 2

2017-11-19 20:25:13 UTC

Use these locks to secure the gromlet to the railing which the banner is being hung from.
Add weights to the bottom to keep it from flapping in the wind

2017-11-19 20:25:19 UTC

@Thomas Ryan like the idea?

2017-11-19 20:25:34 UTC

It's a bit more epx

2017-11-19 20:26:31 UTC

Expensive but it the banner will be out for longer and you can pick multiple colors for the tarpaulin

2017-11-19 20:26:46 UTC

Don't buy several padlocks for each banner. The goal is to keep it cheap. Also they can just cut around them on the tarp/canvas.

2017-11-19 20:27:06 UTC

Just us carabiners

2017-11-19 20:27:11 UTC

*Stop focusing on making stuff hard to take down, it's gotten you in trouble.*

2017-11-19 20:27:18 UTC

Zip ties are fine.

2017-11-19 20:27:31 UTC

Or just standard paracord-style rope.

2017-11-19 20:27:58 UTC

2017-11-19 20:28:05 UTC

Carabiners can just be unscrewed

2017-11-19 20:28:57 UTC

Pro tip: actually get a good photo of the banner and it'll last forever on the internet.

2017-11-19 20:29:02 UTC

Looking at you, @Goodest_Boy

2017-11-19 20:29:03 UTC

honestly just buy a 1x2 cut it into section and staple them to the bottom

2017-11-19 20:29:37 UTC

its cheap adds weight and keeps the banner taught

2017-11-19 20:30:11 UTC

Water bottles with zip ties going around them and through the banner, with duct tape over the cuts in the banner to keep it from tearing is best.

2017-11-19 20:30:22 UTC

For cheapness, ofc

2017-11-19 20:30:45 UTC

For quality you could also get a PCV pipe of some kind.

2017-11-19 20:30:45 UTC

Thin(ish) wooden dowel rods from a Home Depot type place.

2017-11-19 20:31:10 UTC

Main focus is to make sure *nothing falls from the banner onto traffic*. *That's bad opics, causing a pile up on the highway*

2017-11-19 20:39:38 UTC

2017-11-19 20:39:56 UTC

I tried making a banner tpday 😂

2017-11-19 20:42:59 UTC

that over spray makes it look edgy af

2017-11-19 20:43:50 UTC

Im worried people will think its about veganism

2017-11-19 20:45:33 UTC

for the size you are using you can get a sample size flag blue paint and a 2in roller and have a clean look for around 10$

2017-11-19 20:48:15 UTC

1. We never use red paint
2. Stencils way too small
3. The idea said "the rest", not everyone
4. Material looks way too thin

2017-11-19 20:48:51 UTC

Get some thicker material, bigger stencils, and try a bucket of flag blue paint, and a roller and all that. Will make it way better, and you can use that bucket for dozens more banners.

2017-11-19 20:49:32 UTC

Really good effort, though. All things considered. It has a lot of character, that one.

2017-11-19 20:51:00 UTC

Haha yeah we were looking at all the materials and probably thought it wouldnt work put but we tbought it be good to do it to figure some stuff out

2017-11-19 20:52:03 UTC

Trial and error is key

2017-11-19 20:52:22 UTC

I ruined my first banner

2017-11-19 20:54:09 UTC

Yeah i feel that. Could you resend the guide?

2017-11-19 22:37:53 UTC

It's pinned

2017-11-19 22:40:38 UTC

in activism?

2017-11-19 22:50:01 UTC

@Thomas Ryan Yeah I'm not seeing it pinned in activism. I think it was there at one point, but it disappeared. If you wouldn't mind throwing it up again, I'll make sure I save it where I'll remember it this time.

2017-11-19 23:02:33 UTC

Will do when I get home
