Not only that, but rigorous standards for self improvement physically. Also, they aim more towards the older 1.0 demographic, whereas we're looking for younger guys who tend to be more fit, presentable and mindful of appearences.

Speaking of which, we're going to do another book club soon.

The point is less about denigrating those folks, more about appealing to a broader spectrum

And there's nothing wrong with those people as themselves, but they aren't representing themselves today, they're representing the movement whether they want to or not, they're representing a vision of the future that people should be willing to sacrifice a lot for, and they aren't all doing it justice in my opinion.
