Seems reasonable enough to dismiss her mother and say that she died as a result of the collision. However, might she have survived if she was in better health like the dozen or so others? Very possible that could be a factor.

Furthermore, I am not privy to the details of the investigation, and all I can hope for is that Fields gets a fair trial by an unbiased judge/jury. I think it's nonsensical to claim things like "murder" when there has been no verdict on the case.
