well uh, the leveling system's the best it's been. most actions will grant you XP, breaking things, upgrading structures, killing zombies, buying/selling at the traders, and ofc completing quests the traders give you or from ones you find on notes randomly

my current character has a mostly perception/intelligence build

this thing is the intelligence based melee weapon

and portable junk turrets are its ranged

perception is spears, bombs, and the hunting/marksman rifle

strength is shotguns/clubs, fortitude is fist weapons/machine guns

agility is pistols, bows, and blades, and say I wanted to be able to craft a good wooden bow. I'd spend skill points from leveling on agility, to be able to get ranks of Archery, which unlocks various kind of bow and crossbows as I tier it up, and increases the level of quality I can make of them with each one.

I also need to get 'bow parts' which is gotten from breaking down existing bows/crossbows I find in the world that arent the primitive bow made from simply wood and grass fiber

not to mention duct tape/glue is a little rare till you can get yourself access to stations that can make it from bones or a beaker to make it at a campfire for the same but its just more expensive

not to mention mods, higher quality weapons have more upgrade slots, grey t1 stuff has one and t6 stuff has a max of 4. they increase damage + whatever the effect it is like a burning shaft melee upgrade to make it a torch + have a chance to ignite or scopes n laser sights n magazine extensions n stuff

yeah the java edition is generally much better

win10 edition literally has microtransactions to change your skin

admittedly a lot of em are like different models but regardles

cant even mod win10 version I dont think

and the modding community has made it easier than ever to just plug n play mod packs via community launchers like technic or feed the beast

also I like how they handled needing to eat and drink

eating food restores max stamina, and drinking water restores your stamina regen speed

bandages and other medicine restore semi-permanent max health damage
