Yes, the group I was with last time had an hour drive roughly and so do many others. It's just wise, plus getting a large house in Charlottesville was a no go. @Wade Garrett

mapquest says 60 minutes to Charlottesville. Also, it's in the Shenandoah Valley, on the other side of the Blue Ridge. Probably down in some John Mosby hideout holler. Actually, this is the same town where Thomas Jefferson and the first independent gov't of Virginia hid out when they had to flee from the British.
