DECEMBER

I remember, back that cold night in December
When I had a flashback to previous Septembers
Everything I thought I knew
Was thrown out into the blue

I do recall that night of sheer blackness and hurt
When all I could do was pray for relief from the burn
I wish there was a way to know
How to stop dwelling on it and ultimately let go

If only there was some way to let go and go on
If only I could recall that special song
I know it’s stupid, I know it’s vain
But I think you’re missing out on someone truly great

Let’s take a walk down memory lane
Let’s remember the days before the break
Remember when we were so in love it hurt
Remember the days before we could barely be curt

Let’s flash back to when our lives were complete
Let’s recall the days before our defeat
Everything that’s said and done
Become part of our past, when we thought we’d won
