Usually doctors just assign you a gender and perform the operation right there without ever telling the parents or the baby when they're older.

Calling someone the opposite sex is considered to be insulting in most cases, because male and females strive to be males and females respectively, so if you call them the opposite thing, that means they exhibit a different behaviour from what people of their sex would normaly do. The vast majority of people strive to act according to their sex.

They'd been trying to not let the bot into this particular channel. Most bots I know of can be set to only respond in particular channels. It's a simple matter of removing the read/write permissions from that bot's role from the channels you don't want them in.
