purge all the Negros

2017-04-02 10:59:17 UTC

Keep in mind that most develop governments are heavily bought and paid for by the very same corporations causing the Garbage Patch. So they effectively block funding for projects like the one you've heard of.

2017-04-02 10:59:18 UTC

@Avitoast And so was I.

2017-04-02 10:59:28 UTC

@vegeta or were you

2017-04-02 10:59:32 UTC

well the idea is that the garbage flows with the current which goes around all the oceans, which is why it's a patch, so if you have the structure in one or two sectons, wouldn't that make a bigger difference then nothing?

2017-04-02 10:59:42 UTC

@Avitoast or are you?

2017-04-02 10:59:50 UTC

The patch is enormous and the plastic has broken down so small that it'd take an astronomical level of effort to deal with.

2017-04-02 11:00:16 UTC

But if we were, say, as determined to do it as we were to get to the moon, we'd be able to do it within a decade.

2017-04-02 11:00:23 UTC

And that makes it a problem to deal with.

2017-04-02 11:00:32 UTC

A fixable problem isn't useful for population control.

2017-04-02 11:00:40 UTC

get to mars in 50 years more like fix earht

2017-04-02 11:00:46 UTC

A fake one is better because you can move the goalposts when your predictions don't come true.

2017-04-02 11:01:06 UTC

Mars isn't real!

2017-04-02 11:01:27 UTC

the earth is flat

2017-04-02 11:01:35 UTC

i jsut googled what it looks like and it looks like an iceberg of garbage

2017-04-02 11:01:36 UTC

It's a construct of the patriarchy!

2017-04-02 11:02:10 UTC

Global warming predictions in the early 90s were adamant that the Earth was going to be uninhabitable by 2020 with sea levels high enough to wipe out most coastal cities in the world wiped out by sea level rise. It's 2017 and that's not even close to happening.

2017-04-02 11:02:15 UTC

i hate how we have fucking social shit going on meanwhilethe garbage

2017-04-02 11:03:01 UTC

because some people are too thick to see past petty garbage and try to live a meaningful life or at least a fulfillig one

2017-04-02 11:03:06 UTC

Seriously, we need to have a purge.

2017-04-02 11:03:27 UTC

Japan definitely needs a purge.

2017-04-02 11:03:29 UTC

apparently it is 2 tiems bigger than texas

2017-04-02 11:04:17 UTC

listen to yo yo piraka during the purge

2017-04-02 11:04:50 UTC

Nah, I'll listen to the Bardock theme.

2017-04-02 11:05:32 UTC

Well, I think it's about time to get back home.

2017-04-02 11:06:23 UTC

Sea levels are not rising, they've actually gone down slightly.
Ice caps and glaciers are not shrinking, they're growing.
Temperatures have not increased, at all, they've gone down.
Carbon dioxide levels are not at record highs in Earth's history. While currently they are rising, they are actually really low in term's of Earth's climate history.
Carbon dioxide does not act with a net warming effect on planets with an active biosphere. It increases plant growth which converts a lot more solar energy into chemical energy resulting in a net decrease in temperature.
We are not experiencing an increase in dangerous hurricanes, we're experiencing modest decrease.
We're not experiencing unsual droughts, we're experierncing normal droughts that affected areas have always periodically had. They just have people stupidly living there now.

2017-04-02 11:06:34 UTC

Hopefully you'll all still be alive by the next time we cross paths.

2017-04-02 11:06:52 UTC

and of course climate change is always occurring on earth, right??

2017-04-02 11:07:03 UTC

Always

2017-04-02 11:07:05 UTC

i mean its the reason why we dont have metre long insects anymore

2017-04-02 11:07:07 UTC

kek

2017-04-02 11:07:36 UTC

if humans were smaller overpopulation would be less of a problem

2017-04-02 11:07:51 UTC

i mean there isnt an ant overpopulation problem

2017-04-02 11:08:03 UTC

We only have 40 years of accurate satalitte data. And not only is that not enough time to tell if anything is really something to be alarmed about, but the data we do get from them contradicts the temperature data we're being given. It shows a net decrease in global temp.

2017-04-02 11:08:23 UTC

next ice age??

2017-04-02 11:08:23 UTC

jk

2017-04-02 11:08:41 UTC

We are in an ice age technically.

2017-04-02 11:08:52 UTC

how

2017-04-02 11:09:03 UTC

Because I said so.

2017-04-02 11:09:03 UTC

The rising temperature data we're being fed as "the truth" comes from heavily urbanized cities. And the heat island effect is compeltely ignored. So the "sharp increase" you see on the graphs doesn't depict global warming, it depicts cities undergoing urbanization.
