2017-04-06 13:08:33 UTC

I have been unmployed for years despite constantly trying.

2017-04-06 13:08:51 UTC

absolutely everyone refuses to hire me without experience, which I can't get because no one will hire me.

2017-04-06 13:08:54 UTC

Vicious cycle.

2017-04-06 13:09:14 UTC

In what kind of job?

2017-04-06 13:14:40 UTC

I tried absolutely everything in my town that didn't require a degree.

2017-04-06 13:14:50 UTC

I need a decent job to finish the degree I was working on.

2017-04-06 13:15:11 UTC

I tried at McDonalds seven times.

2017-04-06 13:15:30 UTC

And when I heard anything at all, it was thta I didn't have enough experience in the food service industry.

2017-04-06 13:15:50 UTC

MCDONALDS, the place people joke about as your bottom of the barrel, last resort job, thought they were too good for me.

2017-04-06 13:17:18 UTC

I always checked in. I often got promised they'd call back. No one did. And no, i didn't "screw up" the interview. I was rejected before getting one every time.

2017-04-06 13:17:54 UTC

I was not making mistakes in my application or resume either. I had professional help for years.

2017-04-06 13:18:27 UTC

I uaed to work as a cashier at a gas station. I really liked it. Back then the minimum wage was like $3.65 an hour, so I worked like 60~80 hours a week.

2017-04-06 13:19:06 UTC

emma

2017-04-06 13:19:12 UTC

I can't work for minimum wage. The way the government disability benefits work, you're actually punished for working for too little. Putting you in a worse financial situation.

2017-04-06 13:19:15 UTC

got to college and get aa certification for something

2017-04-06 13:19:25 UTC

I have to make signifcanlty more than minimum to just break even with what I get now.

2017-04-06 13:20:11 UTC
