I will be implementing a slowmode into the <#508381442942959616> channel. I have seen other servers do this, and while it is annoying, it usually results in debates being more productive and less hostile, and avoids participants arguing the same points over and over due to the rate limit.
I will only keep it at 5 seconds right now, meaning, you have to wait 5 seconds before sending a new message. This ensures you have had time to at least read what your opponent said before giving a response, instead of immediately writing a new message.
Effective immediately:

I will be taking a short hiatus, and as a result, will be active online less often but will still be occasionally on. The server may see a decline in usage.
@everyone I will be accepting staff applications and be trying to handpick a few new staff members.
If I come to you asking to be on the staff, you only need to answer the questions you are asked directly by me.
I will also be reducing the responsibilities of the staff.
This means that staff members will have less activities they are required to attend to. I do not want this server to take away more time than you are potentially willing.
If the application seems like too much, don't worry too much about it. As long as you can be reliably active or can post a debate question every so often, you should be alright.

I am considering a name change for this server. "Patriots United" is a working title, but you can share suggestions in <#507040477111910401>
A new change in staff is underway as well as a restructuring of the server and a new way of applying rules. So far, not too much is going to change, the general "Don't call for violence, don't make threats, and don't violate the ToS" are all still in place, as well as the other rules listed.
Also, there is a huge ongoing purge happening on Discord right now. Working on a backup plan in case we get taken down.
