The ratings are a quick way to speed up the process of deciding what's worth spending time on.

Anything with one or two stars is shit. Four or five is worth taking a look at. Three deserves more research because those likely got polarized reviews.

That's less obvious when you go by like/dislike ratios.

It does filter out extreme reviews though.

I use Netflix the most because they have the best UI. I watch Netflix's version if it and at least one of the other two has it. I use Hulu for new shows.. Amazon for things I buy.

Hulu is the only one that still has the Stargate shows. Given how it was removed from Netflix and Prime, I might have to go buy it on Amazon Video since it'll probably be removed from Hulu before long.

They all removed Eureka and I had to buy it.

Now Fringe is getting removed.
