It's a much less sticky situation if the police clear the park out for us.

2017-07-25 01:44:38 UTC

*IF*

2017-07-25 01:44:51 UTC

We can't assume they're our guys. Either they'll let anyone in or they'll restrict our guys from getting in.

2017-07-25 01:44:58 UTC

And that's IF

2017-07-25 01:45:09 UTC

@Kurt We have the permit. We can control access all we want.

2017-07-25 01:45:47 UTC

I dont think it gives us exclusive access. I think it just gives us permission to setup equipment and stuff

2017-07-25 01:46:09 UTC

The men conducting security and risking life and limb are more equipped to handle access than some cloistered VIPs

2017-07-25 01:46:38 UTC

I'll press the police to clear the park for us prior to say 11:40 am

2017-07-25 01:46:43 UTC

Sure, if they want to go to jail

2017-07-25 01:47:12 UTC

@MadDimension If the event starts at noon, we are going to need at least an hour to setup.

2017-07-25 01:47:29 UTC

We have radios. There is such thing as communication and simple white intelligence and agency

2017-07-25 01:48:29 UTC

So, considering a lot of our people are going to be arriving early, what does the police clearing the park look like? Everyone, including ourguys gets removed?

2017-07-25 01:48:57 UTC

Is there anyone safe to pregame not in the park?

2017-07-25 01:49:16 UTC

I'm lost now. The problem statement is that we are afraid that antifa will camp out in the park to prevent us from setting up, correct? If so we pretty much have two options. 1. Get the police to clear the park and control access until we get setup and ready. 2. Commit felony assault if the antifa wont move.

2017-07-25 01:49:39 UTC

Here is the deal:

The police HAVE to leave a portion of the park open to the "public" (including Antifa). The best possible deal we could strike is to give them an area as small as 10'x10' or a single pathway from one end of the park to the other

2017-07-25 01:50:51 UTC

How many obese antifa can they fit in a 10x10 square?

2017-07-25 01:50:58 UTC

@Kurt Them I'm assuming you and your guys won't be helping with security and trying to ensure the event actually happens?

2017-07-25 01:51:10 UTC

Antifa ARE NOT going to be allowed to camp out in the park

2017-07-25 01:51:46 UTC

@RCO Nick-TX I do not speak for any group.

2017-07-25 01:52:16 UTC

What is our access to the police for communication going to be like in the midst of all of this? Generally speaking, the two sides should be relatively easy to distinguish, and point out interlopers to the cops.

2017-07-25 01:53:03 UTC

I am just pointing out that we should take the option that is the safest and most legal. If the police are willing to clear the park for us, let them.

2017-07-25 01:53:34 UTC

There will almost 200 police in the park. We have a lot of say in the safest way to deploy them

2017-07-25 01:53:39 UTC

@Kurt Yea of course. And if they don't?

2017-07-25 01:54:20 UTC

Then all bets are off

2017-07-25 01:55:11 UTC

But if the are making the offer, then why not take it and plan on attempting to clear the park ourselves as a contingency.

2017-07-25 01:58:52 UTC

You put the contingency plan in place in advance. We need to be proactive not reactive. Also if we are not willing to take some risks for what we believe I don't know what to say. This isn't a movement for the risk adverse.

2017-07-25 02:00:58 UTC

We were talking about weather is was a good idea to have passes at all. Not if the cops say they can control access and fail to do it.

2017-07-25 02:01:32 UTC

If they say they are going to do something, and they don't we are in a berkely situation.

2017-07-25 02:01:51 UTC

You operate on the assumption the police will not do their job, not the other way around

2017-07-25 02:02:29 UTC

Yes I agree.

2017-07-25 02:02:43 UTC

But that wasnt what we were talking about lol

2017-07-25 02:04:23 UTC

The thing about the passes is that at best, we get passes in the hands of a fraction of the attendees, and have a bottleneck in the middle of an already chaotic situation while we try to check passes for hundreds of people. It seems like a lot of extra complication for not much improvement on the situation.

2017-07-25 02:05:09 UTC

@Gavius Corvus the question on the table isn't about passes for the general attendance, but about passes for the setup crew between 10-12

2017-07-25 02:05:25 UTC

Well, how big does the setup crew have to be?

2017-07-25 02:05:49 UTC

Seems like something that could be done on the basis of Kessler or other VIP saying "hey, these 10 guys are here to help set up."

2017-07-25 02:05:56 UTC

The setup crew is irrelevant if you can't gain access to the damn park.

2017-07-25 02:06:01 UTC

By 10-12 the counter protesters will likely already be out in force.

2017-07-25 02:06:14 UTC

Ahh yes we must have the "VIP"s guide us

2017-07-25 02:06:19 UTC

They're all knowing
