That's the thing the goodness depends on how much you have be willing to forgo your own sense of what makes sense in favour of the author's; the more you have to tell yourself "it is plausible given the parameters of this universe" the more tiresome it is to read

I dont hate it it just breaks world sometimes

In his case you have to forgo a lot but if you do it is extremely rewarding
