you shouldn't, it's well supported

2019-07-11 23:19:26 UTC

no

2019-07-11 23:19:30 UTC

W10 works on everything

2019-07-11 23:19:35 UTC

the screen is a 17" matte 16:10. just try to find anything with that

2019-07-11 23:19:37 UTC

it'll be the bios that'll fuck you up if anything

2019-07-11 23:19:37 UTC

it definitely will

2019-07-11 23:19:43 UTC

the BIOS is unaffected

2019-07-11 23:19:46 UTC

you dolt

2019-07-11 23:19:53 UTC

hasn't it offered you a w10 upgrade via windows update?

2019-07-11 23:19:55 UTC

thats why i never replaced the laptop, ive replaced a few parts here and there

2019-07-11 23:20:18 UTC

W10 installer has issues with some legacy bioses, Coolitic, it's why it won't install on my old laptop

2019-07-11 23:20:25 UTC

it works on legacy BIOS

2019-07-11 23:20:28 UTC

Mate the BIOS is just the boot system of the motherboard. Has nothing to do with operating systems.

2019-07-11 23:20:30 UTC

you have to select the option

2019-07-11 23:20:34 UTC

Yes, it does, but not all of them

2019-07-11 23:20:41 UTC

there are ways to install it properly

2019-07-11 23:20:46 UTC

the bootloader is not an issue

2019-07-11 23:21:06 UTC

Well that's not Microsoft are telling me

2019-07-11 23:21:14 UTC

is there a bootable dvd win10 'tester'?

2019-07-11 23:21:19 UTC

uhh

2019-07-11 23:21:23 UTC

You can download the iso's from their website, System11

2019-07-11 23:21:24 UTC

I dont think they have a Live CD

2019-07-11 23:21:25 UTC

To my understanding Microsoft no longer offers direct upgrades for windows 10.

2019-07-11 23:21:42 UTC

Windows update on my laptop says otherwise, Gespa

2019-07-11 23:21:50 UTC

shame. i suppose the only way to test it would be to sling a spare hard drive in

2019-07-11 23:22:06 UTC

You’ll notice I said “to my understanding”, Eccles.

2019-07-11 23:22:14 UTC

Could resize your partition and install on that, System11

2019-07-11 23:22:20 UTC

Bit of a risk attached

2019-07-11 23:23:01 UTC

yeah id rather not break it, i have one of the old drives. its a raid supporting system and i replaced the twins when one died and put a single SSD in

2019-07-11 23:23:20 UTC

Sounds like you have a plan then

2019-07-11 23:23:36 UTC

Good luck with whatever you decide to do

2019-07-11 23:24:15 UTC

I quit trying to upgrade my laptop because it wasn't sufficiently important, and microsoft "professionals" were just being shit

2019-07-11 23:25:05 UTC

if it cant take win 10 ill have to find linux alternatives for a few things and do that

2019-07-11 23:25:22 UTC

I tried Linux for a year - it's shit

2019-07-11 23:25:27 UTC

Shouldn’t be hard. There’s plenty of resources online

2019-07-11 23:25:37 UTC

Ehh not shit. Just different.

2019-07-11 23:25:47 UTC

Also really depends on the distro you want to go with.

2019-07-11 23:26:17 UTC

Tried a few different ones, but mostly they suffered from the thing linux has suffered since i first tried it 20 years ago - poor hardware support

2019-07-11 23:26:38 UTC

That and Steam linux support... just isn't there yet

2019-07-11 23:26:54 UTC

Better than it was the last time i tried it, but still not there yet

2019-07-11 23:26:55 UTC

ive been using linux so long i made my own distro back in the slackware days. i dont use it because i have to use speech recognition software and it behaves better on windows
