From an objective standpoint I agree with that statement, though through the rejection of objective meaning I assign subjective meaning.

Hard to function as a human being when you're a complete 100% nihilist

2019-07-12 05:56:02 UTC

Only if you think too much

2019-07-12 05:56:06 UTC

I mean

2019-07-12 05:56:12 UTC

define 100% nihilist

2019-07-12 05:56:12 UTC

if you do nothing but think inside a locked space your mind "rots"

2019-07-12 05:56:20 UTC

Nothing matters to the universe

2019-07-12 05:56:24 UTC

but shit still matters to *me*

2019-07-12 05:56:37 UTC

100% nihilism would be literally nothing matters, meaning nothing matters to you either

2019-07-12 05:56:45 UTC

I define nihilist as in not believing in God but thats just my radical short sighted opinion

2019-07-12 05:56:52 UTC

the lack of stimuli sends you to places you wouldn't normally go to

2019-07-12 05:56:54 UTC

Because theres totally meaning to life

2019-07-12 05:56:54 UTC

A lot of things dont matter to me

2019-07-12 05:57:01 UTC

I pick and choose what does

2019-07-12 05:58:12 UTC

Technically as an absolutist nihilist you can do anything you want, but it would all be devoid of meaning, so you could only have fun if you enjoy doing meaningless things, otherwise death may be your only real option.

2019-07-12 05:58:29 UTC

Good thing I enjoy doing meaningless things then

2019-07-12 05:59:33 UTC

Well shit after reading that I agree kinda with both. You yourself of the universe in a way you *do* care the universe *cares* even if it works against you. But if it all just worked out then what's the point of it all? When we get über advanced that's where we'll live possibly in our imaginations where we live peacefully with eachother or smth 'nother, but ya know what I'm gettin at

2019-07-12 05:59:34 UTC

I strive for an average day in which I feel nothing. I find peace in that emptiness. I don't bother myself with things like getting angry or having enemies, because it brings disquiet into my life. I like things quiet.

2019-07-12 05:59:50 UTC

I do have friends, and enjoy their company.

2019-07-12 05:59:57 UTC

@JoeyJoestar1337 sounds like absurdism might interest you

2019-07-12 06:00:13 UTC

Absurdism is the one where you realize the universe has no meaning then start giving it meaning yourself right?

2019-07-12 06:00:18 UTC

Yeah

2019-07-12 06:00:25 UTC

yeah, I do that

2019-07-12 06:00:42 UTC

I'm very picky about what I give meaning
it helps keep you from getting worked up
i don't like getting worked up.

2019-07-12 06:00:57 UTC

No point to it really

2019-07-12 06:01:02 UTC

Probably

2019-07-12 06:01:05 UTC

Said the nihilist

2019-07-12 06:01:09 UTC

I used to get very worked up

2019-07-12 06:01:10 UTC

it sucked

2019-07-12 06:01:11 UTC

Getting worked up isn’t productive

2019-07-12 06:01:11 UTC

So I stopped

2019-07-12 06:01:20 UTC

I go the route recommended by Alan Watts's interpretation of Hindu philosophy, where animated action by living beings is conceptualized as "play". Where does that fall into?

2019-07-12 06:02:00 UTC

gives other people massive amounts of power over you, if they can change your state of mind easily

2019-07-12 06:03:01 UTC

@Jack Bright practiced attention/meditation might help you get better control of how you feel, eliminating the sense that you are in fact worked up and making others lose any power over you

2019-07-12 06:03:28 UTC

Oh I just did that by breaking myself in college and then putting the bits back together in the course of about an hour.

2019-07-12 06:03:39 UTC

Much faster.

2019-07-12 06:03:58 UTC

Well if it works, it works

Goodness me I am TEAM BORIS!!!

"I can't dissent!" - flipping takes responsibility. Pulls his sleeves up, gets ready to respect people's opinion. As they're not facts. If you have done a piss poor job, take precedence over that and be held accountable for your actions. Sir Darrach has done that and resigned. I just think it's a sign for old traditions to come back.

Just don’t put too much of your faith in politicians.
