πŸ‘‹ Goodbye. You lost.

2019-10-24 16:31:27 UTC

>break the law
I don't know how much clearer I have to make this. the parent has rights, the child does not

2019-10-24 16:31:49 UTC

Corporal punishment is frowned upon, not illegal.

2019-10-24 16:32:07 UTC

its not breaking the law for a parent to take their child by the arm and compell them to comply with their demands

2019-10-24 16:32:48 UTC

>page search for "child"
oh look, not in the language of the law

2019-10-24 16:33:01 UTC

#ImagineMyShock

2019-10-24 16:33:24 UTC

"Unlawful detention means keeping in custody unlawfully. Under criminal law it means keeping or confining a person in custody without any lawful reason."

2019-10-24 16:33:27 UTC

>That's breaking the law

Oh so he's okay with laws against physical abuse.

2019-10-24 16:33:29 UTC

Imagine not being able to read the first two lines

2019-10-24 16:33:30 UTC

<:pot_of_kek:544849795433496586>

2019-10-24 16:33:34 UTC

But other laws are "statist"

2019-10-24 16:33:40 UTC

Nice try. πŸ‘‹

2019-10-24 16:33:50 UTC

page search for "minor", also nothing

2019-10-24 16:34:50 UTC

what πŸ‘ part πŸ‘ of πŸ‘ kids πŸ‘ are πŸ‘ not πŸ‘ afforded πŸ‘ equal πŸ‘ rights πŸ‘ to πŸ‘ adults πŸ‘ is πŸ‘ not πŸ‘ clear πŸ‘

2019-10-24 16:35:06 UTC

they are not emancipated under the law until they are 18

2019-10-24 16:35:28 UTC

the premise of the novel "unwind"

2019-10-24 16:36:04 UTC

short of physically or mentally maiming or killing them, the parents are within their right to compel their child to comply

2019-10-24 16:37:13 UTC

This may differ from how it works in "bjΓΈrkville" scandiwegia or wherever the fuck you are, but that's how it works in the US

2019-10-24 16:38:09 UTC

its such an oversimplified 90 IQ argument to say "hurr they can just say no." An argument that denies that children are _different_ than adults, and that they need special protections because of their VULNERABILITY, both physical and mental/emotional vulnerability..

2019-10-24 16:39:22 UTC

and the fact they aren't afforded even a fraction of the rights as their parents when it comes to shit like self-determination

2019-10-24 16:39:25 UTC

does @Nathan James 123 (the anarchist) think kids should vote too?

2019-10-24 16:40:16 UTC

It is the same reason why the child soes not effectively pick their school nor their doctors nor their meals. Their input can be gathered and contemplated but they have no responsibility yet.

2019-10-24 16:42:09 UTC

Who wants children liable for conplicated decisions that oftentimes even adults don't fully understand or think about the related factors or consequences.
We have adults acting like children who can't take responsibility for themselves. Last thing I want is *actual* children (physically as well as mentally) deciding on surgical procedures or hormone therapies. Anything like that prior to complete puberty maturation is biological abuse.

2019-10-24 16:42:28 UTC

*Regardless* of how you view the issue of transgenderism

2019-10-24 16:43:16 UTC

Not that the child is the one with an apparent desire in this case.

2019-10-24 16:43:38 UTC

Which is pretty fucking important for any alleged 'pro' argument for the mom

2019-10-24 16:44:01 UTC

Now I return to lurk and take my exams for the day

2019-10-24 16:52:15 UTC

@Imaorange I too will lurk as I finish prepping for exams.
Good luck to you in this brutal midterm season.

2019-10-24 16:52:58 UTC

yeah, finally off my anxiety pain-couch and filling out FAFSA

2019-10-24 16:54:10 UTC

oh you guys aren't wagecucks yet?

2019-10-24 16:54:27 UTC

Quite quite. Upper division kicking in. Pressure loops and hip anatomy reeee

2019-10-24 16:55:17 UTC

I've had real jobs before. I'm an engineer. Worked as an R&D Engineer for the past two years. I'm back in school because I'm all about that MD/PhD life now

2019-10-24 16:55:29 UTC

damn, what a story

2019-10-24 16:55:58 UTC

Best of luck to you

2019-10-24 16:56:10 UTC

I'm actually highly interested in medicine. I'm a chemical/biological engineer by trade. Worked on some pharamacuaticals and caught the bug for tying in clinical research

2019-10-24 16:56:14 UTC

Thanks for the luck.

2019-10-24 16:56:16 UTC

I'm scared

2019-10-24 16:56:24 UTC

Shit like this has me really freaked out.

2019-10-24 16:56:45 UTC

I'm actually thinking about interning at one of these Gender clinics in SoCal this summer to get a mental grasp on this stuff

2019-10-24 16:56:48 UTC

my dads a doctor, but he didn't go the m.d. phd route. Any way you can just get the m.d ?
