Nearly 50% of all Chinese -> EU FDI is going straight into the UK.

2019-09-14 14:17:17 UTC

Really, European federation wouldn't be such a bad thing, it just needs a good constitution

2019-09-14 14:17:23 UTC

That's why you saw them acquire a firm that both produces and manages government and military communications infrastructure via a state-cartel, what? Last year?

2019-09-14 14:18:08 UTC

Chances are, it's gonna happen either way, so we might as well try to put together something that will be somewhat tolerable.

2019-09-14 14:18:14 UTC

I tend to agree, Leavethisbotnet, but that is for them to decide. France rejected it when last the ratification process was initiated after WWII.

2019-09-14 14:18:37 UTC

Eu is gonna get federated real soon tbh

2019-09-14 14:18:52 UTC

its either that or collapse

2019-09-14 14:19:37 UTC

we started moving on an EU army already

2019-09-14 14:19:45 UTC

The arguments for it are too strong, even when it comes to immigration. It's more efficient to secure the borders of Europe, than it is all the border around the region, plus the internals.

2019-09-14 14:19:50 UTC

many states have common brigades nowdays

2019-09-14 14:19:54 UTC

atleast in the west

2019-09-14 14:20:10 UTC

Yeah, but it's still inefficient, because the training is variant, laws differ.

2019-09-14 14:20:44 UTC

That's why their defense budget is nearly as high as the U.S. (if you add up the budgets of each country throughout the region), yet has what? 17% of the operational capacity of our army?

2019-09-14 14:21:28 UTC

you cant compare the US army to an EU army that dont exist yet on all member states

2019-09-14 14:21:30 UTC

tho

2019-09-14 14:21:48 UTC

will see down the road tho

2019-09-14 14:21:50 UTC

Right, I'm saying they don't have an EU army.

2019-09-14 14:21:53 UTC

it wont take too long

2019-09-14 14:22:18 UTC

ah...

2019-09-14 14:22:20 UTC

especially if the uk leaves

2019-09-14 14:22:28 UTC

its gonna be pretty easy

2019-09-14 14:22:49 UTC

cause they currently veto a lot of unification stuff

2019-09-14 14:23:02 UTC

Thus, platforms are variant and non-standardized, but I also agree with arguments against an EU at the same time.

2019-09-14 14:23:45 UTC

Yeah, but the UK would be able to influence the EU into a positive direction, if they remained. Many of the worries could be abated.

2019-09-14 14:24:05 UTC

They'd be of less concern, at least.

2019-09-14 14:26:03 UTC

But, you're right. A USE is practically a guarantee at this point, given something around 70% of all citizens throughout the region nationally identify as Europeans, rather than of their host or country of origin.

2019-09-14 14:26:41 UTC

>militia and armed forces being necessary to the right of self determination, federal government and judiciary shall place no limitations or impositions on the right of states to raise, equip and maintain army or militia, except in case of international weapons non-proliferation treaties - and in such cases, the limitation on the states shall not be any higher than limitation placed upon the forces subordinate to federal organs

2019-09-14 14:28:21 UTC

That's practically the structure of the US as it were.

2019-09-14 14:28:31 UTC

On paper, at least.

2019-09-14 14:28:33 UTC

😂

2019-09-14 14:28:34 UTC

It will probably be very hard to convince some states to agree to give more powers to the federal government without a limitation like this

2019-09-14 14:29:11 UTC

Yeah. The problem is, 2A simply would not fly in EU states.

2019-09-14 14:29:43 UTC

Which is why I came up with a european variant.

2019-09-14 14:34:59 UTC

Keep the links, talk and posting to the politics of the channel please. Do not post off topic, that is what we have the Xenoi channels for. Thank you!

2019-09-14 14:35:02 UTC

2019-09-14 14:36:55 UTC

Yeah, I'm not too fond of a USE, without recognition to the rights of self-preservation, @leavethisbotnet. With a growth in the bureaucracy, under a more efficient governance and military, it'd be wise to recognize 2A.

2019-09-14 14:38:08 UTC

What really highlighted this for me was the Catalonia situation. If they had a militia, they'd be independent by now.

2019-09-14 14:50:48 UTC

The question is whether such is within their interests, but a proper representation of the militia is always the armed, common man, those subject to governance.

2019-09-14 14:51:17 UTC

@leavethisbotnet, let's take Catalonia to <#622430651668234240>, as I have questions pertaining to Catalonia.

2019-09-14 14:54:58 UTC

The Catalonia situation, as it relates to the dynamics between a state and a subordinate region absolutely on topic though.

2019-09-15 03:47:55 UTC

Indeed, @leavethisbotnet. I merely had further questions diving off into the domestic politics of Catalonia, as I haven't followed the situation in over a year.
