The rule is there because "If he's allowed to post a meme, then I am also" and then the channel fills up with memes. This is so that the artists would stick around.

Well, so far it had the opposite effect.

Equal treatment for people. Anyone who creates stuff themselves are allowed to post their stuff here and if you didn't make that yourself, then don't post it here.
