I don't know what to say other than get more used to drawing aesthetically pleasing comic books, because if the story's good, you could be drawing it for the next twenty years.
Most comic book guys are in it for the long haul.
It's a pretty solid career if you can devote the time to doing it.
Yeah, It's just that I've got my own plans I need to pursue
and I did not expect that 12 pages would take me such a ridiculously long time
I can definitely understand it being not compatible time-wise with college, it's a profession, and a great way to spend time doing something intensive that makes money in the long run.
Most modern comic book artists only do poorly because of politics and bad writing affecting their sales, it's more often the message that the book holds that's wrong rather than the artist.
Good story plus good art equals a living, so don't be afraid to turn down bad stories if it's not worth the effort.
yeah, this one seems good though, that's why I'm trying to help the guy out a little by looking for someone more suited for that kind of job than me
What was his time-frame?
Well, unlimited for now... he's mostly trying to get some proof-of-concept stories done, so that he can show them off.
Really? And how far have you come? If he's not in any rush, it would be a great opportunity to teach him how long it takes when a college student is doing it in their spare time instead of as a profession.
It'll be a leaning moment for him and it'll be a boon for you too since you didn't flake out on him and waste his time.
Patrons are generally very generous when there's no set deadline.
I mean look at B Clay Moore! People have been waiting on his Kickstarter for FOUR YEARS and none of the cucks have called him out on it without being called Nazis.
It's not your full-time job, AND you're seeing it through anyway, that's a sign that you can turn it into a career and get business later.
That seems to be something college students don't understand, since modern school has taught them to multitask instead of devoting their life to doing one thing well, since that takes literally all your time.
Yeah, you're right
I mean, doing multiple things is a good idea, but you have to be working towards a specific goal
And the more comics you do, the better you get at them. Being able to do what you're attempting now is the end-goal of art school.
So yes, don't stress yourself. See it through, take as much time as is necessary to deliver a fantastic product.
Yeah, you know what? I think you're right
I'll stay on board then

ok
@everyone whenever someone says white privilege I almost want to kill myself. Those 2 words are like the worst thing ever, I can’t believe their not like the two most hated words put together.
Oh that's nothing compared to "community."
Thanks to my white privlege I burn eaiser in the sun
That's the worst, that's rule one of my personal code, never trust anyone who uses the word "community."
Somewhere down at five or six is people who use the Katakana shrug emoji.
Random idiot; our “”””community””””
Me: kys
Yeah, because they always presume to speak for you and for everyone, and use everyone as a bludgeon against everyone else like a conniving bitch.
I think I hate "that's abliest" one of the most
Or anything about speaking on behalf of all disabled people
Eh, I can ignore that one, claims like that are hollow and should not be recognized.
You can just say "that's not a thing."
Nothing grinds my gears more than some cunt trying to tell me my joke is offensive to myself
Or you can bust out your own disabilities and pity points which you don't normally flaunt and beat them at their own game, and force them to give up their untenable position.
