Anything less than carnage and rape on the battlefield leads to more wars. These Codes of Honor" of which you speak enabled Lords and Kings to make war for their own advantage, whenever they felt like it. The people suffer then.
The wars we have now are a great example. So long as the casualties aren't too high, and they don't affect the populace of whichever side is winning to a substantial degree, the wars will never end.
That's true
There are certain codes that are different, like parleying under the white flag, but those are just ways to have an orderly war.
Yeah. The Geneva Convention is definitely bs tbh
The US gov certainly agrees. Despite being a signatory, we use the Geneva Convention accords as toilet paper. If that weren't the case, you'd never see a shotgun on the battlefield.
Ah, good old Victor's Justice. The thing that allows the US to do whatever the heck it wants, whether it's firebombing Germans or raping and burning Vietnamese children.
Vae Victis
I don't speak ancient spaghetti nigger
I like that intro
Vae victis (IPA: [ˈwai ˈwiktiːs]) is Latin for "woe to the vanquished", or "woe to the conquered".[1] It means that those defeated in battle are entirely at the mercy of their conquerors and should not expect—or request—leniency.
True
It's just hypocritical for the Allies to criticize the Germans for "all those dead Jews" but not even think about apologizing for doing the same thing tenfold
It's beyond hypocritical since the holocaust didn't happen.
Exactly
It's just a straight up lie.
And the US gov knows this.
Even if it did happen, that wouldn't justify their actions. But that it didn't is beyond hypocrisy and deciet
It's funny how they go on and on about Russian propaganda now, but all that crap the USSR faked at the end of WWII is just fine.
yep
Savitri Devi talks about how she thinks it is regretful that Christians vanquished so many pagan religions, but it was really the Pagans' fault for not having Men In Time to act like lightning and defeating the Christians. If they had resisted more effectively, they could have won.

Heck ya
I'm late to the discussion, but I really don't think Hitler hated the Jews.
In Mein Kampf he talks about how until he was in his 20s, he staunchly defended them out of ignorance, and until he learned the absolute truth his stomach still turned when he heard anti-Semitism.
In the camps, they had swimming pools, brothels, welfare, movie theatres, soccer fields, etc. Thousands of Jews were allowed to stay in the Reich as Mischlings, Justified Jews, Honorary Aryans, etc.
Hard for me to believe the guy actually hated Jews.
I think his downfall was that he was able to disconnect his anger from the Jews. If he had been overcome by anger and hate for them, then he would have not made decisions such as that - instead, he looked at it from a more "logical" point of view (to say that in certain cases, their benefits outweighed their detriments), and bought into the "notalljews" meme
Hitler hated the idea of discriminating against a people based on their religion. That is the part of "jew" that he was repulsed by.
That's true. He does make that distinction dozens of times in MK.
I mean that is the part of hatred of Jews he was repulsed by
I could be willing to believe that he made a distinction between "Jew by choice" and "Jew by birth", but IMO the first is more despicable than the second.
He also makes mention of struggle against them as a pro Christian struggle and was actually a practicing Catholic
