I heard that whey sucks

2018-04-18 06:25:17 UTC

Not really. Casein is kind of a meme imo

2018-04-18 06:25:45 UTC

Is there any particular criteria to decide based on?

2018-04-18 06:26:41 UTC

How can I tell which brands are "good"?

2018-04-18 06:26:53 UTC

Is all protein just protein, or does it make a difference?

2018-04-18 06:30:37 UTC
2018-04-18 06:32:00 UTC

Not necessarily. Make sure you're getting an isolate, as there's really no reason to pay extra to get extra shit that possiblly may not even digest correctly. I like to say 20-30g of protein per scoop is a pretty safe bet.

2018-04-18 06:32:34 UTC

Optimum Nutrition has some pretty good protein as well

2018-04-18 06:33:54 UTC

Thanks

2018-04-18 18:27:23 UTC

Any whole foods fans here?

2018-04-18 18:33:00 UTC

I do like some of the products they carry. We had a great Whole Foods in Hawaii with a large outdoor patio for food and their full-service bar. Much of the shitlib clientle on the other hand...

2018-04-18 22:10:46 UTC

@Pat-MA I do as well love overpaying for groceries

2018-04-19 02:56:44 UTC

@Pat-MA yes sir. And FreshThyme.

2018-04-19 05:28:23 UTC

I just had a pretty intense lifting session

2018-04-19 05:28:33 UTC

Should I have extra protein?

2018-04-19 05:28:53 UTC

Or is there only a certain amount I can take in at a time?

2018-04-19 05:44:57 UTC

Get the amount to fulfill your daily requirements, and if you want to eat more go for it. There's probably no right or wrong answer, some sources say that your body only absorbs x amount of protein per meal, other sources say that's bs. (Unless you're restricting caloric intake)

2018-04-19 05:45:37 UTC

What you could have more of after a really strenous workout is more carbs to replenish your glycogen levels. >inb4 keto posters

2018-04-19 05:51:52 UTC

Technically too much protein can fuck up PH balance or something along those lines. Or at least bad for your liver/kidneys. That's why I'm not a fan of Keto as, at least what a lot of people tend to do, eat a lot of fucking protein. Too tired to remember, why the hell am I still even up lol?

2018-04-19 05:54:55 UTC

You're awake to answer questions

2018-04-19 17:47:28 UTC

Strict Keto is supposed to be moderate protein, high fat.

2018-04-19 17:47:55 UTC

Too high protein >> Glucogenesis or w.e > kicked out of keto

2018-04-19 23:57:25 UTC

Should I be taking creatine?

2018-04-19 23:57:35 UTC

Or anything else, for that matter?

2018-04-20 00:10:51 UTC

If you take creatine, get some milk thistle to help flush the kidneys

2018-04-20 00:11:01 UTC

Creatine works, not sure what it does to keto.

2018-04-20 00:15:54 UTC

just adding, don't overcomplicate it with all the supplements and stuff, effective training and good sleep is 100% better than every possible supplement

2018-04-20 06:22:56 UTC

> good sleep

2018-04-20 06:23:05 UTC

lol that's gonna be a problem

2018-04-20 07:10:20 UTC

neeeeeerd

2018-04-20 18:46:04 UTC

I tried to get sleep last night until these Mexicans started yelling and doing construction 40 feet from where I sleep at 7 AM when I wake up at 10 to do second shift at work.

2018-04-21 14:32:58 UTC

@Jacob I'm just now realising (after my doctor's instruction) that good sleep will do worlds of good in nutrition and strength.

2018-04-22 05:28:18 UTC

Gonna go on keto for a while to shred some bodyfat for summertime. Is muscle milk's 100 calorie protein powder good for keto?

https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2017/05/22/beans-toxic-lectin-rich-foods.aspx

I was introduced to this idea today, that lectins are a primary cause of our health problems today.

Anyone else heard of this, or is this some new 'fad of the week' diet?

2018-05-09 21:40:00 UTC
