2017-12-09 20:59:23 UTC

Thanks man!

2017-12-10 16:59:59 UTC

@Zyklonius B Gassem-LA ^^^^ lel got em.

2017-12-10 17:01:20 UTC

@Deleted User fuck that stings

2017-12-10 17:02:56 UTC

I had a hearty laugh about that one.

2017-12-11 02:19:19 UTC

Alright so this is the second time in a row that I’ve gone to the gym and it feels as if either a vein or a ligament is pinching in my left elbow

2017-12-11 02:20:32 UTC

Does anyone know what this might be and how do I fix it

2017-12-11 03:56:07 UTC

Is it during a specific exercise?

2017-12-11 04:46:52 UTC

Anything that curls my bicep, and only at full curl

2017-12-11 05:09:51 UTC

Might be good to just not do that for a week and see how it feels at that point

2017-12-11 05:13:40 UTC

Yeah I'm just going to relax for awhile, keep it straight. It feels more like a nerve than a muscle

2017-12-11 10:26:18 UTC

@Cacoethes That used to happen to me when I’d use an easy curl bar. I had to switch to straight bar and dumbbells only.

2017-12-12 03:51:23 UTC

@Deleted User try massaging it. Also try different variations of curls, and try to switch the placement of your elbow (maybe bring it closer to your body or farther out in front of you to isolate the bicep)

2017-12-12 05:27:46 UTC

Massaging the elbow tip gives me little jolts down my forearm into my knuckles. 100% a nerve. And yeah next gym sesh I’ll try that. Until then I’ll keep it straight. That makes it feel better

2017-12-13 00:15:12 UTC

@Deleted User Hammer curls put way less tension on your elbow ligiments.

I have a lot of trouble with my wrists

2017-12-13 00:18:06 UTC

I can't touch an ez curl bar

2017-12-13 17:15:01 UTC

@Deleted User do you have wrist bands?

2017-12-13 17:51:09 UTC

Yes

2017-12-13 18:02:07 UTC

At what point is it a good idea to start using a belt for squats?

2017-12-13 18:07:03 UTC

@Zyklonius B Gassem-LA good question. Someone said to me it's always good, though I haven't gotten to getting it yet. Neither that nor the lifting shoes I should get

2017-12-13 18:07:51 UTC

I'm getting some Adidas adipowers for Christmas I'm pretty stoked for that. Never worn lifting shoes before

2017-12-13 18:08:33 UTC

I'm almost up to 300lbs on the squat at 165, I'm not noticing a form deterioration

2017-12-13 18:13:19 UTC

I love squats.

2017-12-13 18:15:56 UTC

Also I know this is super novice world stuff, but I've been consistently adding 5kg to my squats every session for about 12 sessions now. I'll try not to get used to it, but it's the thing that's been consistently good for me. My bench on the other hand was disappointing yesterday. I shot for too high an increase, missed it, and then was too shot to even repeat my weight from last time.

2017-12-13 18:17:13 UTC

I'm following the starting strength program so I'm effectively doing the same thing.

2017-12-13 18:17:32 UTC

My bench is frustratingly bad. I hate it so much I think about quitting on bench days

2017-12-13 18:24:41 UTC

NEVER QUIT

2017-12-13 18:28:28 UTC

^

2017-12-13 18:43:26 UTC

I use belt when squatting 80-85% of my max

2017-12-13 18:43:57 UTC

Otherwise I don't use one because I want my core to strengthen

2017-12-13 18:44:42 UTC

It's good that I don't always use one because at my first powerlifting meet I was so nervous I forgot to tighten my belt clasp, but made the lift regardless

2017-12-13 19:18:42 UTC

I'm not quitting it's just frustrating when novices can bench more than you when I've been lifting for about a year.

2017-12-13 19:18:51 UTC

Shitty ectomorph genetics

2017-12-13 19:24:27 UTC

In the end you'll be better if you keep going.

2017-12-13 19:24:40 UTC

Longer arms=longer levers=more force

2017-12-13 19:24:53 UTC

I understand the frustration though

2017-12-14 03:23:03 UTC

@Zyklonius B Gassem-LA I use my belt for squats once I get to my body weight or above. It’s a good idea to use it at lower weight to develop the muscle memory

2017-12-14 04:02:42 UTC

@Zyklonius B Gassem-LA Hey I noticed you were talking about benching, so after me and @Goose were done with the program today I got my bench PR up to 225.

I had to do it to you.
