ik this little black dude, Richard hawthorne i think

2017-12-17 02:35:17 UTC

he does that with deadlift

2017-12-17 02:35:28 UTC

he's incredibly strong pound for pound

2017-12-17 02:36:49 UTC

That guys name is Richard Hawthorne? ahaha, that's awesome

2017-12-17 02:39:11 UTC

Man. That's seriously impressive.

2017-12-17 02:40:08 UTC

high volume training has its benefits, i try to do my strength sets first, then do 5x10 of a decent weight

2017-12-17 02:40:24 UTC

the pump gets unreal

2017-12-17 02:40:58 UTC

and it really helps engrain form

2017-12-17 02:41:28 UTC

oh and always beltless

2017-12-17 03:00:42 UTC

Yes no belt. Hypertrophy is the goal. It will be interesting to see how my muscles respond to the training. I just finished my first set of 100 reps for Bench and holy crap. 5 sets in the pump was nice. 8 sets in I could feel anything. I would only recommend this if you have a Goode strength base

2017-12-17 03:32:31 UTC

What's the benefit of belt/no belt?

2017-12-17 03:56:30 UTC

Belt is good for heavy lifts. Contrary to popular opinion using a belt doesn't really weaken your core.

2017-12-17 03:57:30 UTC

However I just don't see any need to use a belt for weight you push in high volume training

2017-12-17 06:29:53 UTC

Belt exists mostly for safety and for helping maintain internal pressure during a lift by giving your core something to push against

2017-12-17 06:30:58 UTC

The safety thing is mostly for 90%+

2017-12-17 12:46:19 UTC

I'll only use a belt for like overloading my hammies and glutes during squats so i don't have to worry about my back

2017-12-17 12:46:26 UTC

or when going for a pr

2017-12-17 14:26:37 UTC

Does anyone have tips for getting/staying motivated to work out and excerise? Especially during those cold weeks of December when you just want to stay in and feast every day

2017-12-17 14:27:26 UTC

Was on XC team in high school. When I was 15 I was in he best shape of my life and I really want to take up running and swimming again

2017-12-17 14:27:48 UTC

@Warren H you’re not always gonna be motivated. It’s more about discipline. Telling yourself that these days, when you really don’t feel like going, they’re the most important

2017-12-17 14:28:29 UTC

Set a schedule and really dedicate yourself to it. You’ll always feel better after it’s done

2017-12-17 14:29:13 UTC

What do you mean by discipline? Like forming a habit of working out on certain days

2017-12-17 14:29:21 UTC

And thanks @Ekdromoi

2017-12-17 14:31:50 UTC

Sticking to it and not deviating just because you don’t necessarily feel like it (As long as you’re not legitimately sick or injured or anything). Motivation isn’y necessarily something you can force to happen. I used to think so but I realized that it’s really all by chance or by circumstance that you feel “motivation”. Training is more about discipline and not doing it because you “feel” like it. Do it because you know you have to, and that you should, with the knowledge that you will be better for it afterward

Watch shit like this:

2017-12-17 14:35:54 UTC

Or this:

2017-12-17 14:36:27 UTC

The number of videos like this are endless. It puts you in a foul mood but sometimes that's what it takes.

2017-12-17 14:37:28 UTC

Haha yeah those will definitely get me fired up

2017-12-17 14:40:45 UTC

The vast majority of us would like to think that we'd intervene in situations like these but, it seems, most people do not. One of the things that will increase your chances of doing so is having confidence in your physicality. I train like I do not because I want to be a bad ass but because I never want to live with myself if something like this happens and, like most people, I just stand there. There's never any telling until the moment arises but I want to put myself in the best possible position to help if I'm needed.

2017-12-17 14:45:51 UTC

I imagine if a guy like @Nick-NJ, @Robtheroman, @Tyler0317, @Deleted User or a lot of the boys here were present in that first video. At least one of those two skinny pricks in the first video is gonna get *mauled*. Also helps to remember that @Reinhard Wolff has been clear about his expectations for our physical fitness.

The IE servers in general (and especially the pagan server for me in particular) are great motivation. @Warren H You have to make it part of your mindset. Given my ideology and values, I'd be a (WEAK) hypocrite if I didn't constantly pursue to better myself. I want to learn, grow, become stronger.

2017-12-17 18:46:50 UTC

@Deleted User what about the pagan server motivates you? I've been looking for that as well on the server as a way to be empowered and motivated myself

2017-12-17 19:26:53 UTC

Well that's something you have to look inwards for, but. Paganism has this metaphysical European strength to it. Honor thy ancestors, the Western 'sun and steel'
