For those that don't know the story - at 2:20 are clips of Jacare winning one of his world titles against Roger Gracie (probably the GOAT). Jacare was caught in an arm bar with only a minute or two left, and he let Roger break his arm. Jacare was still up on points so after he wriggled his broken arm free, he tucked it into his belt and was able to keep Roger away until time expired

Good God I want those shoes!

2017-12-26 20:54:34 UTC

@duramaxed Im in Norfolk. Close enough. Mason is a good school.

2017-12-27 01:56:41 UTC

Just did a squat session with them. These shoes are the shit 10/10 would recommend

2017-12-27 04:56:05 UTC

Don't wear those in a black neighborhood or they will steal them right off your feet

2017-12-27 05:31:41 UTC

One of the most well put together WN cinema and it's great before a workout to raise those t levels

2017-12-28 14:47:40 UTC

Isn't Wim Hof basically a con artist? Someone give me the quick rundown on him

2017-12-28 22:57:38 UTC

Workout. Steam room. Shower. Protein shake. English tea. I struggle to imagine that there can be a better recipe for the makings of a well lived day.

2017-12-28 23:01:13 UTC

☝🏻

2017-12-28 23:02:03 UTC

Well that and crushing your enemies, seeing them driven before you, and hearing the lamentations of their women. But otherwise, yeah.

2017-12-28 23:56:24 UTC

Or as @Suomi Stronk might say, “The open steppe, a fleet horse, falcons at your wrist, and the wind in your hair.”

You talking shit there boss? @Reinhard Wolff

Waking up and doing pushups until you can't anymore is literally the best way to start your day.

I’m gonna @everyone this as a PSA to you younger guys. So, I’m going back and watching the early days of the UFC. At about 1996 - 1998, long after Royce Gracie left his mark on the game, the “Uber-Body” athletes took over. Steroids were obviously abound but, in any event, for about a year or so, the UFC was dominated by hyper-muscled men with body fat of between 6 and 9 percent. They smashed everyone they faced within 2 minutes, and they looked like Greek statues chiseled from stone.
...
However, by the end of 1997 (I’m at UFC 16 right now), something became pretty apparent. If you could survive these guys for five minutes, their stamina PLUMMETED dramatically. I mean, to the point of where at minute 7 or so, they would literally be getting punched in the face and were too tired to lift their hands up.
...
I look at their physiques, and they look like professional body-builders. Every vein popping. Do you have any idea how much oxygen it takes to fuel all that muscle mass? It also takes some body fat. By 1998, the Muhammad Ali body style (about 10-15 percent body fat) was back in full control.
...
Case and point, either be an elite body builder or an elite warrior. You can’t be both.

Very true, gotta make sure you do your cardio too

2017-12-31 00:22:48 UTC

McGregor lost his boxing match because of cardio

2017-12-31 00:23:09 UTC

It's a balancing act, really

2017-12-31 00:23:22 UTC

McGregor is a perfect example.

2017-12-31 00:23:48 UTC

You need to have the strength to fight (Via Muscle Mass) but the lungs to keep going.

2017-12-31 00:24:02 UTC

I actually have you in mind @Suomi Stronk. Footballers tend to burst then rest. But what if you have to burst then no rest?

2017-12-31 00:24:18 UTC

You have a very low body fat. Well sub@10

2017-12-31 00:24:26 UTC

I ran into this issue a lot in wrestling, as I had the strength to get most people in either the first or second period, but if it went into the third I was gassed.

2017-12-31 00:24:34 UTC

Yeah

2017-12-31 00:25:30 UTC

It just depends what your strategy is. Either overwhelm your opponent quickly or wait him out until an opportunity opens up.

2017-12-31 00:26:20 UTC

It depends on what energy system you train during exercise

2017-12-31 00:26:31 UTC

Well, you can overwhelm with more than 9 percent body fat.

2017-12-31 00:28:44 UTC

I just bought an exercise bike 👍

2017-12-31 00:30:03 UTC

How do you find the balance so you can fuel yourself?
