Anyone ever have a lack of appetite after working out? I'm trying to eat my post workout meal and I'm having a hard time wanting to eat

Ran another OCR this weekend with my girl, a 5k like we all ran back in NE in July

2018-01-29 23:06:11 UTC

Thanks brother! Was a lot of fun

2018-01-30 01:15:44 UTC

What wasw your time?

2018-01-30 01:26:13 UTC

It was slower, it was my gf's first event like this so she more or less set the pace while I motivated her to push herself

2018-01-30 01:26:53 UTC

Great fun though, can't wait to have the IE crew back for the warrior dash in July

2018-01-30 02:42:47 UTC

Awesome @BryceB-ND#1845

Between local generic gym and YMCA which do you goys recommend is best for money as a gym beginner

2018-01-30 21:53:52 UTC

Local generic gym ie 24 hr

2018-01-30 21:56:10 UTC

Yea that's an advantage

2018-01-30 21:56:52 UTC

Generally local generic gyms have better environments better hours and more amenities such as a sauna and have less plebes

2018-01-30 21:57:11 UTC

But it's really about whatever place is convenient enough for you to make a habit out of going

2018-01-30 21:57:18 UTC

Close to work or close to home

2018-01-30 21:57:44 UTC

I think my step sister works at the YMCA

2018-01-30 21:57:48 UTC

That could be helpful

2018-01-30 21:59:19 UTC

Might garner a discount or something

2018-01-30 21:59:24 UTC

Worth checking out

2018-01-30 22:00:13 UTC

I went to the YMCA years ago, I liked it. Lots of people there, but no one using the heavy weights. Plus my YMCA had a bad ass locker room, sauna, steam room, massive shower room. All pluses for me.

2018-01-30 22:01:30 UTC

Tbh I've only used a university rec center like once so I have no idea what to look for

2018-01-30 22:03:13 UTC

Gyms that have lots of machines are less intimidating to start.

Gyms with free weights are better for strength training.

2018-01-30 22:14:45 UTC

I assume there's someone there who can explain the machines and stuff?

2018-01-30 22:17:53 UTC

Yeah, there will always be someone there who can explain which machines are what

2018-01-30 22:33:13 UTC

How much do most memberships cost?

2018-01-31 00:21:56 UTC

I pay 45.99 per month for 24 hour fitness

2018-01-31 00:22:46 UTC

Not sure what YMCA costs but I imagine it's less

2018-01-31 00:37:09 UTC

I'm stuck in a contract paying $43.29 for an Anytime Fitness. The gym that I actually go to costs $10 and is infinitely better than the Anytime Fitness! I recommend you look around and weigh your options before you sign a contract. Learning life lessons is fun.

2018-01-31 00:40:53 UTC

@StrawberryArmada
1) My former gym was huge and cost $30/month

2) Instead of looking for someone to show you how do use machines/freeweights....
A) Consider coming up with a plan online. There are an infinate amount of articles and free weight training routines availlable.

2018-01-31 00:42:24 UTC

@StrawberryArmada Here are some resources. Good on you for wanting to seek self improvement!

2018-01-31 00:52:59 UTC

Should I worry about not being able to do certain exercise? Is there any way to tell what I'll be able to handle?

2018-01-31 00:59:00 UTC

@StrawberryArmada Bro, find a beginner plan from someone who you see as an expert.

Then follow the plan with discipline. After 3-4 months of lifting, you'll have the experience to know what you want, and how to achieve it.

For me, Mark Rippetoe was my guru. I followed his starting strength plan for like a year, and I gained 20 solid lbs of bodymass.

2018-01-31 01:39:34 UTC

@StrawberryArmada Overthinking it, just go lift

2018-01-31 10:34:16 UTC

found the gym for all of us to go workout at

2018-01-31 12:09:25 UTC

😆

2018-01-31 18:03:49 UTC

There's a pretty lulzy video of the Muslim womyn teaching the class how to throw noodley punches

2018-01-31 23:01:40 UTC

Who in gods name would take that class
