Also gotta get my LDL cholesterol levels down

2018-03-28 22:03:31 UTC

what are they at?

2018-03-28 22:03:48 UTC

I was reading up on cholesterol the other night

2018-03-28 22:04:31 UTC

seems that standards continually recommend an unrealistically low number

2018-03-28 22:05:21 UTC

and when the original 2004 guidelines were set, 8 of 9 people on the board who set them stood to profit because of it

2018-03-28 22:06:18 UTC

from what I saw, If you're in around 200, your perfectly fine

2018-03-29 00:26:03 UTC

@Pat-MA How old are you? Yes get it tested as early as possible (8am) as your test decreases throughout the day.

2018-03-29 01:27:35 UTC

I'm 27. I think my LDL levels were like 100 away from the "too high" range

2018-03-29 10:50:55 UTC

Wait nvm-my HDL level was 124

Hahaha

2018-04-02 20:35:04 UTC

Lol

2018-04-02 20:36:52 UTC

My gym is pretty much me sitting under the bench in between sets, listening to my Viking metal playlist, hopped up on a lot of preworkout, trying to not rip someone's head off while I see all these Hispanics wearing jeans and not actually getting anything accomplished.

2018-04-02 20:40:45 UTC

My gym is pretty much me, about 5 dimepiece figure competitors, 3 other powerlifters, 5 strongmen. Gym constantly blares metal and even has a huge "No selfie zone" and "go heavy or go home" graffiti on the walls. Only one non white I've ever seen there. Never had to wait for anything and even has a kitchen

@BigBadSaxon - ID That sounds like the place that you get to go to once you get to lifting level 99

2018-04-03 01:43:59 UTC

would you guys consider wrestling and boxing to be forms of European martial arts?

2018-04-03 01:46:18 UTC

I suppose, yeah

2018-04-03 06:10:35 UTC

Of course and throw kickboxing in there as well

2018-04-03 08:58:01 UTC

@Aleis⊕)))#9030 absolutely. And wrestling is one of the most effective martial arts in the world.

2018-04-03 14:17:29 UTC

Wrestling is a must IMHO

2018-04-03 16:15:37 UTC

I remember back in the day when everyone said bjj was the most effective martial art style. Then the American wrestlers came along and used body control to stop the bjj practitioners. Cannot choke or arm bar anyone when you cannot move. I think Russan Sambo is the best for grappling.

2018-04-03 16:35:28 UTC

@halfMc Disagree. Watch the first couple dozen UFCs. BJJ beat wrestling 100% of the time in the days before MMA evolved. Wrestling does not teach submission techniques. We have wrestlers come into my gym and it's the same story: they are experts at getting us to the mat but, once there, it's our game.

2018-04-03 16:35:59 UTC

The other thing about BJJ v wrestling is that you don't use your legs as arms in wrestling.

2018-04-03 16:36:41 UTC

Also, wrestlers aren't taught how to fight from their backs.

2018-04-03 16:36:51 UTC

Sambo, agree, that's a different story.

2018-04-03 16:37:12 UTC

Yeah like I said in the beginning bjj was the best, the the Amercan wrestlers figured out how to control them

2018-04-03 16:37:57 UTC

Sambo is a combo of jj wrestling and judo so it's crazy grappling

2018-04-03 16:42:22 UTC

@Deleted User for example the first time I saw a wrestler figure it out was when Dan Henderson fought Anderson Silva, if you watch the first round of that fight Henderson controls Silva's body. Dan ended up catching a knee in the 2nd round and losing the fight but it showed that wrestling can neutralize jujitsu

2018-04-03 16:45:02 UTC

That was UFC 82 in 2008. By that time, MMA had been a thing for almost a decade. You should watch the first 20 to 40 UFCs between 1993 and 2003. There wasn't american wrestlers beating BJJ practictioners, everyone (including strikers) figured it all out at the same. Right around the time of Randy Couture, Chuck Liddel, Matt Hughes, etc
