Khabib fight gave him a ton of opportunity to advertise
As a novice lifter should you see 5 pound jump coming back to a compound movement after a killer lift from 2 days ago? Or is that asking too much?
I'm just asking because I seem to be not improving as fast as I'd like and I think it could be because I'm not getting enough calories or getting the proper nutrition. Not sure though
Your progression should be steady, you shouldn't be throwing on another 5 lbs whenever you feel like - ideally. If you aren't seeing progression, it's likely not enough food, poor diet, not enough sleep, etc.
Fixed dat typo tho
I've been trying to up the protein and eat more lately so hopefully that helps out
And some people naturally progress at certain lifts slower than others. It just depends.
It just seems like I can't get to 3 plates on squats. Makes me unmotivated as all hell. Feels bad man
Might just be an upper body gym bro
Gotta work for it
I've been squating 6sets of 4 then been doing weighted lunges. Probably should do some more deadlift work.
At what point in the lift are you getting stuck?
Had MRI yesterday and doctor cleared me for lifting and running after two weeks of rest. Returned to the gym and set weights at what I had a month ago. A setback but I am so happy I could keep progressing. We're all gonna make it.

We're all gonna make it brah
we're all gonna make it brah
we're all gonna make it brah
I'll be dammed if we don't
that feel...
This looks beyond nice!
iām going to switch from bike to stairmaster tomorrow
I have trouble with pull ups on account of my height (arm length) and weight. After two months serious lifting I can't even do one with good form. I noticed today my gym has a weight-assisted pull-up/dip machine. I'm doing to ditch dumbbell tricep kick backs and lat pull down (my form sucks) for use on this machine instead, and progressively lower counter-weight aide until I'm doing real pull-ups/dips.
Good plan
I worked my way up with that back in the day
@Wood-Ape - OK/MN how tall are you?
empire state
@Deleted User 6'9", although I may have shrunk to 6'8" due to manual labor and portaging canoes
Just went to the gym for the first time in a year. I have like 0 muscle mass and a joint disorder so everything felt really awkward
@NITRODUBS take it slow and light. Work on mobility and form, work up in weight
My boyfriend is pretty knowledgeable on fitness im probably gonna have to get his help for form lmao
this shit cracks me up
@Parsifal keep on the bike, just turn up the intensity. Wear a heart rate monitor to make your efforts objective. Aim for a target heart rate or above for target time duration.
is there a fitness server on slack
@Pat-MA I believe there is
There is not, we have a few channels for it on Mercury.
