For sure.

2018-10-16 20:46:57 UTC

And if I had to choose only one, I'd go for substance...

2018-10-16 21:33:39 UTC

Luckily those things usually go hand in hand

2018-10-16 21:49:25 UTC

Sometimes

2018-10-16 22:29:34 UTC

I'd say that 'usually' is more accurate than 'sometimes', but I'm no expert on martial combat, so I'll leave the discussion on that to more knowledgeable peeps.

"*Intellectuals, please respond*"

2018-10-16 22:33:56 UTC

2018-10-16 22:34:26 UTC

I think Will could whip my ass and I've probably got 30 pounds on him.

2018-10-16 22:34:48 UTC

But yeah, the average guy doesn't train at all.

2018-10-16 22:35:11 UTC

So a weight/muscle advantage is usually a big deal.

2018-10-16 22:36:28 UTC

whoop your ass in what though, rolling?

2018-10-16 22:37:07 UTC

rolling is a controlled enviornment that in my opinion isn't incredibly reflective of overall ability

2018-10-16 22:37:20 UTC

1v1

2018-10-16 22:37:29 UTC

Will trains Muay Thai too...

2018-10-16 22:38:15 UTC

Ik he does more, haven't seen any of that before though so I just went with rolling

2018-10-16 22:39:12 UTC

I definitely think jiu jitsu and grappling are less effective in street/group situations but that aside

2018-10-17 00:33:59 UTC

Haha @Deleted User lets get together you strike i grapple 😁

2018-10-17 00:34:55 UTC

I kid. I have a much longer background in boxing than I do in BJJ but I’d put BJJ up against anything one on one

2018-10-17 00:42:09 UTC

Hahah I'm game, shame you dipped out early the last opportunity we had to spar at Sam's though

2018-10-17 00:42:23 UTC

I'm eager to go rounds with some of you guys again

2018-10-17 00:52:14 UTC

2018-10-17 01:00:10 UTC

2018-10-17 01:11:27 UTC

I can't really blame him

2018-10-17 01:11:43 UTC

dude has a son now, another kid on the way and millions of dollars to sit on...

2018-10-17 01:12:05 UTC

a clothing brand, his own whiskey and a crazy amount of sponsorships, etc. etc.

2018-10-17 01:12:24 UTC

Khabib fight gave him a ton of opportunity to advertise

2018-10-17 16:45:39 UTC

As a novice lifter should you see 5 pound jump coming back to a compound movement after a killer lift from 2 days ago? Or is that asking too much?

2018-10-17 16:46:58 UTC

I'm just asking because I seem to be not improving as fast as I'd like and I think it could be because I'm not getting enough calories or getting the proper nutrition. Not sure though

2018-10-17 16:48:47 UTC

Your progression should be steady, you shouldn't be throwing on another 5 lbs whenever you feel like - ideally. If you aren't seeing progression, it's likely not enough food, poor diet, not enough sleep, etc.

2018-10-17 16:50:07 UTC

Fixed dat typo tho

2018-10-17 16:50:53 UTC

I've been trying to up the protein and eat more lately so hopefully that helps out

2018-10-17 16:50:56 UTC

And some people naturally progress at certain lifts slower than others. It just depends.

2018-10-17 16:53:04 UTC

It just seems like I can't get to 3 plates on squats. Makes me unmotivated as all hell. Feels bad man
