<@&467800803315286046> and @Will - MD It looks like they aren't haveing the Warrior Dash in the same location for 2019. We should start talking about where we are going to do it this coming year.

2018-12-14 22:12:01 UTC

where are the locations?

2018-12-15 01:26:11 UTC

Would you guys say it's important to bulk first or cut?

2018-12-15 01:26:30 UTC

I plan to start paying for a gym membership and go early in the morning

2018-12-15 01:32:05 UTC

Are you chubby?

2018-12-15 01:40:05 UTC

Yep, depends on your body type and prior experience.

2018-12-15 01:40:43 UTC

If you're generic skinny fat, I'd recommend a clean bulk. Aim for 3-4 lbs a month at most. That's just me tho.

2018-12-15 03:21:39 UTC

If you're fat, cut. If you're skinny fat, bulk and then cut. If you are skinny, bulk forever.

2018-12-15 12:58:15 UTC

(Bulking Forever!)

2018-12-15 15:00:41 UTC

Bulk forever for me then!

2018-12-18 15:59:40 UTC

So just got out of surgery, I'm six weeks from actually lifting again 😱

2018-12-18 21:17:17 UTC

😩

2018-12-19 19:36:10 UTC

What is better for getting bigger, PPL or 5x5? And what rep scheme to focus on?

2018-12-19 23:47:03 UTC

5x5 is geared for linear strength gain with a big focus on the compound lifts. Most PPL routines are a mix of strength & hypertrophy with a focus on compound lifts and classic bodybuilding lifts... Do your research and figure out what goals you have and proceed from there.

2018-12-19 23:48:53 UTC

If you are a newbie, either routine is going to give you great results. If one of your major goals is looking and feeling good/healthy, I'd recommend PPL... that's my personal preference.

Does anybody here use preworkout or coffee?

2018-12-21 04:07:22 UTC

I do but not constantly.

2018-12-21 04:07:31 UTC

Nitroflex

2018-12-21 04:22:47 UTC

If I train after work, preworkout. Usually I train first thing in the morning, and someone on here (please feel free to remind me who if you see this!) made the point that you shouldn't need extra energy first thing in the morning if you got enough rest. I do usually have coffee before going to work though.

2018-12-21 04:57:49 UTC

I don't use anything, does music count?

2018-12-21 06:46:37 UTC

Even if not for energy alone most preworkouts have lots of other good things in them that are beneficial for your workouts.

2018-12-21 11:33:49 UTC

I always go after work. I work a physical job, so the extra energy helps sometimes. Regardless, I like the 'buzz' or tingly feeling. Optimum/Golden Standard pre-workouts have done me good. Wasn't a fan of Mr. Hyde.

2018-12-21 11:34:25 UTC

If they include your creatine or BCAAs, that's a good bonus.

2018-12-21 12:08:59 UTC

I like “AmiNO Energy” by Optimum Nutrition.

2018-12-21 15:44:12 UTC

@Rogue why didn't you like Mr Hyde?

2018-12-21 17:58:56 UTC

A lot of the tingly feeling but no real energy boost

2018-12-22 12:45:32 UTC

I believe that “tingly” feeling is coming from the beta-alanine in the pre workout. I had a strange experience with C4 one time years ago where that tingling didn’t go away for about 2 days. Very strange.

Gym at 5am for the first week should spare you the worst of it.

2018-12-31 19:37:59 UTC

From the 3rd - 14th, my schedule is changing and I'm working nights... this works out perfectly. Can finally get in there at 5 am

2018-12-31 21:56:39 UTC

Unless their new years resolutions is to work out at 5am... but how many actually will? Likely few
