One of the best parts about cycling is getting to tour the countryside.

2018-06-04 16:48:59 UTC

@Der Seeteufel - SD did you know they grow some crops in sand?

One part of SC near my house doesn’t have soil or clay, it’s sand. Even the backroads are sand.

2018-06-04 16:50:15 UTC

I’m new here, so when I saw a tractor, I laughed and thought it was a joke.

2018-06-04 16:50:16 UTC

Yeah our ground out by the river is pretty sandy. Not that bad though.

2018-06-04 16:50:58 UTC

Also, Christmas tree farms.

@Der Seeteufel - SD is there a farming channel? I love the pics you share and would like to browse more.

A farming channel probably would fit into the practical skills server.

2018-06-04 16:59:05 UTC

@ThisIsChris I’m inclined to agree ☝🏻 We have enough farmers now

2018-06-04 17:01:24 UTC

@Tanner - SC @Der Seeteufel - SD @Deleted User #farming now exists in the skills server, welcome! https://discord.gg/zrmmsk

Peanuts grow well in sandy soil @Tanner - SC

2018-06-13 22:53:29 UTC

Also onions grown in sand, which as a substrate allows plants to more easily expand, can result in very large onions

2018-06-13 22:53:54 UTC

I planted 10k onions give or take a few all by hand with my father this year.

2018-06-13 22:54:18 UTC

Used an Amish plough

2018-06-13 22:54:26 UTC

It was a great workout actually

A Homo sapien of the google variety stole my trek bike

2018-06-16 14:55:39 UTC

@Francis V Your bike is in Wakanda?

2018-06-16 14:57:44 UTC

Yes, they used vibranium bolt cutters to cut my padlock

2018-06-16 15:07:29 UTC

I think I know who did it, I was working at a gym at the time and one morning we opened late and a yoked up “google” was angry about it. Instead of being rational and understanding he attempted to take the keys from a manager, (a cute redhead fitness instructor) I stood in his way during his attempts to assault her and held him back, he was escorted to jail by the police. I think he came back for revenge or something.

What model of Trek?

Trek is the only major bike brand 100% owned by Americans, HQ in rural Wisconsin. Specialized is 51% American owned, 49% by Taiwanese “Merida”, HQ in California. Cannondale was 100% purchased by Canadian “Dorel”, HQ in Connecticut.

2018-06-16 15:33:51 UTC

It was a 200 dollar bike I bought from Walmart lol

@The Huwhyte Ulf - VA What’s a “Caye”?

2018-06-20 02:25:13 UTC

Similar to an island. I was on thatch caye for my honeymoon recently.

2018-06-20 02:25:35 UTC

Rode that hog around the caye.

2018-06-20 06:50:15 UTC

You should ride my spare bike and find the true joys of drop-bar road cycling.

Is this where we talk about negating the sideeffects of Tren?
