A few decades after their arrival, endogamous Sogdian merchants were already receiving privileges from the Chinese government and replacing Chinese culture with their own.

Damn we are way higher 25-45 years of age, males that is. I wouldn’t have thought it would be that long

2019-02-21 04:42:24 UTC

What book is this

2019-02-21 04:42:30 UTC

25 makes sense, but not really 45. Thats interesting

2019-02-21 04:42:47 UTC

Book is The Social Leap by William Von Hippel

2019-02-21 04:43:00 UTC

He's a liberal but awesome psychologist

2019-02-21 04:44:13 UTC

His description of young males fails to recognize that men are more likely to risk for glory, die in wars, pursue dangerous careers thus having more "accidents."

2019-02-21 04:45:20 UTC

Ya it’s definitely multi variable. We do it cause we have a higher reproductive output than women right? Women don’t benefit from a status and risk taking in a reproductive sense than men would

2019-02-21 04:46:13 UTC

Exactly

"Because chimps are brainier than baboons, they take longer to reach adulthood, and their slower maturation rate means they demand more maternal care. As a consequence, chimps have an older age of initial reproduction and lower rate of reproduction than baboons."

🤔 🤔 🤔

2019-02-23 23:39:55 UTC

Whatchya thinking about it?

2019-02-23 23:40:16 UTC

Just interesting?

I'm thinking this theory is applicable to our own species. I find nature's consistency to be satisfying.

I’m fairly certain average gestation period of blacks is shorter than whites

2019-02-24 01:18:23 UTC

Not finding good resources atm

Ah there ya go

2019-02-24 04:27:39 UTC

Asians are pretty fascinating. I need to learn more about them and their evolutionary past

2019-02-24 04:28:09 UTC

Like I’m not super informed but apparently they are in general, and especially the Chinese insanely conformist
