2018-03-20 01:51:13 UTC

@Why Tea Thank god!

2018-03-20 02:06:11 UTC

That's horrific.

2018-03-20 11:40:32 UTC

@Jacob just to be clear we are supposed to read up to "Of Means and Ends" or through it?

2018-03-20 19:19:16 UTC

Through

I started reading the book last night, I'm only 20 pages in but did anyone else crack up at the judge and lawyer story?

2018-03-21 18:18:58 UTC

"Fuck you, Campbell."

2018-03-21 18:37:29 UTC

@shekelsworth I didn’t understand that all that well

2018-03-21 18:39:48 UTC

Sounds like the lawyers got shut down

2018-03-21 18:58:38 UTC

Well he was making a point about how they failed to make change through their actions.

2018-03-21 18:58:46 UTC

They shoah'd themselves

2018-03-21 19:27:59 UTC

I can already tell this book is going to be fantastic for what we're dealing with today. I'm not even through the prologue, and already the author has addressed the importance of optics and distancing ourselves from "self stereotype people", aka the alt right and it's LARPers. "

2018-03-21 19:36:46 UTC

Idk his beliefs are founded on equality, justice, etc and so it seems his layout for revolution might not be achievable without this.

2018-03-21 19:37:10 UTC

Democracy is the means and not necessarily the ends, is something he eventually says.

2018-03-21 19:38:44 UTC

And the goal for revolution should be the quality for all. So I don't know if he believes revolutions could be achieved for the your own group.

2018-03-21 19:39:10 UTC

He's a socialist and that's what he sees as the ideal world. He has good points like the separation of ideology and dogma.

2018-03-21 19:40:27 UTC

I don't know though I could be reading this very incorrectly.

2018-03-21 19:43:29 UTC

@shekelsworth he's a far leftist and probably a commie. When I bought this book, books that were "frequently bought" with it was the Communist Manifesto. I shit you not.

2018-03-21 19:44:19 UTC

We need to use the methods that Marxists have used to become successful. That's why this book is a great read for any activist honestly.

2018-03-21 19:45:06 UTC

Yeah I guess I just need to get more the methodology.

2018-03-21 19:45:16 UTC

He's laying out his commie beliefs right now

2018-03-21 19:45:30 UTC

Haha oh boy.

2018-03-21 19:50:35 UTC

@shekelsworth *insert Soviet anthem"

2018-03-21 19:51:20 UTC

Yeah, we have to ignore his personal beliefs and opinions and learn from his methods.

2018-03-21 19:54:20 UTC

I guess we could stop reading once he's gets to "argue(ing) that the failure to use power for more equitable distribution of the means of life for all people signals the end of the revolution in the start of the counter-revolution." 😂😂😂

2018-03-21 19:56:32 UTC

Hahaha yes just glance over that section.

2018-03-21 21:08:41 UTC

I wrote up a draft of an article I was going to submit for the Identitarian, it's about 1500 words. Anyone willing to take a look at it and tell me what they think?

2018-03-23 02:56:18 UTC

I finished the book in my flight. It has some good stuff, but it's very obvious that he is writing this book for communists and leftists.

2018-03-23 04:22:59 UTC

@JC17-OR you are exactly correct. The book came out quite sometime ago - when communism and Marxism was basically forbidden to discuss. His methods worked. Now, communism is an acceptable ideology taught in our universities. We must use the methods our opposition used to become successful.

2018-03-23 04:24:16 UTC

Ignore his political opinions and take from him his political methods.

2018-03-23 04:24:59 UTC

I'll be discussing in detail more about this Monday during our voice discussion.

2018-03-23 05:20:19 UTC

@CarletonJ

Definitely, the big takeaways from this book that I've seen this far is the development of communication, how our phrases affect our optics, and how we and our enemies perceive each other's ethics and influence.

Looking forward to the Monday discussion.

2018-03-23 05:20:37 UTC

I'll likely circle back and re-read some stuff.
