@Jacob Is that how all crypto works, or just Bitcoin?

2017-12-20 00:32:44 UTC

I mean, it's theoretically possible for some big brain developer to make that happen, but I don't see what the incentive would be to go through that whole shitshow

2017-12-20 00:33:08 UTC

I'm trying to visualize how that would even work

2017-12-20 00:34:16 UTC

Huh?

2017-12-20 00:34:33 UTC

I'm not talking about absorption

2017-12-20 00:35:01 UTC

I guess the Bitcoin code could be changed so that more Bitcoin is created, and those new Bitcoin could be split up and redistributed to the holders of the coin being "absorbed", and the one getting absorbed could subsequently be deleted.

2017-12-20 00:35:06 UTC

oh okay

2017-12-20 00:35:19 UTC

I'm talking about computing power

2017-12-20 00:36:11 UTC

It sounds to me like it's either bullshit or overblown

2017-12-20 00:37:17 UTC

It's not like Bitcoin transactions just hijack power from unsuspecting bystanders, the computers on the network have to supply that power

2017-12-20 00:38:05 UTC

Large transaction fees are a problem, though, and I think Bitcoin will eventually be replaced by something with less insane fees and faster transaction

2017-12-20 00:38:12 UTC

Of course not, but when the computing power required to complete one transaction is more expensive than the actual Bitcoin is when it will fail

2017-12-20 00:38:46 UTC

oh, so I guess what you're asking is basically about transaction fees

2017-12-20 00:38:52 UTC

ya those are an issue

2017-12-20 00:39:11 UTC

It should not cost 16 fucking dollars to send money

2017-12-20 00:39:28 UTC

More just the feasibility of an ever growing demand for power

2017-12-20 00:39:33 UTC

Exponentially growing

2017-12-20 00:46:08 UTC

I mean

2017-12-20 00:46:20 UTC

People use whatever power they can suppy

2017-12-20 00:46:36 UTC

So these Ireland comparisons are pretty dumb

2017-12-20 00:46:53 UTC

Remember, here at IE, we care about per capita

2017-12-20 00:47:12 UTC

But, yes, massive transaction fees are an issue

2017-12-20 00:47:41 UTC

So I do think Bitcoin wil lose to something else eventually

2017-12-20 00:47:53 UTC

If power demanded exceeds power supplied, the currency will crumble from lack of reliability

2017-12-20 00:48:03 UTC

Which is the only thing a fiat currency has

2017-12-20 00:48:08 UTC

Reliability

2017-12-20 00:50:00 UTC

Like I said, some better coin will probably come long

2017-12-20 00:50:18 UTC

In fact, there's probably multiple better ones

2017-12-20 00:50:45 UTC

But I don't think Bitcoin will just crumble so quickly

2017-12-20 00:53:30 UTC

I'm just making the case that people need to start thinking about selling Bitcoin. The thing about bubbles is that it's a huge game of hot potato. If you're not holding the potato, you're fine.

2017-12-20 00:57:05 UTC

Should’ve fucking sold my BTC yesterday

2017-12-20 00:57:13 UTC

Why?

2017-12-20 00:57:47 UTC

It just plummeting 3,000 in an hour

2017-12-20 00:57:58 UTC

oh no nigga

2017-12-20 00:58:00 UTC

And the exchange is crashing

2017-12-20 00:58:11 UTC

Buy low sell high

2017-12-20 01:00:47 UTC

@⚡Clark⚡ relax dude, that's not too bad

2017-12-20 01:01:08 UTC

It plummets like this every week

2017-12-20 01:01:37 UTC

Bitcoin cash is on Coinbase now

2017-12-20 01:01:44 UTC

oh shit

2017-12-20 01:01:47 UTC

Fuck fuck fuckkkkk
