I think the regulation is varied from conservative to conservative

That is also true, conservatism can be very broad

Liberalism is just a progressive shift, Conservatism is to keep things the same, and Reactionarism is a regressive shift. These very broad ideologies change on their current political environment, which makes it hard to define. I'd describe the casual conservative more like a classical liberal who's too afraid to admit it or else they'll be called a libtard.

I have yet to see an actual Conservative politician.

But it's possible I just haven't looked hard enough, I could always be wrong.
