Little Deiter needs to fly is a great doc
Deiter was a POW and lived in the bush after escaping camp
Cave of Forgotten Dreams is a good Herzog doc
Going camping with some friends this weekend. Any considerations I should make that I might forget? We're going over who's bringing what right now. It'll just be an overnight campout at a campsite.
@Gaius Mucius Scaevola what weather are you expecting?
@Deleted User 60-70 day, ~40 at night
Presuming no rain, you’re good with pretty light gear - tent, isomat, bag (I like army blankets), set of thermals...standard stuff
yeah since it's just an overnight trip we're not gonna need too much, but I haven't been camping in a long time so I wanted to just make sure no one would think of any basics that I would forget
can't wait
Water purification kit, fire starting kit, food procurement tools, etc. nothing too crazy.
Also, speaking from experience, if you're expecting rain, don't forget to keep all the firewood you've collected high and dry...
My light weight camping setup.
Good ole cowboy camping
Double isomat ftw
Anyone hunt? I’ve got two cow elk tags this year, one for archery and the other rifle.
I would love to go on an elk hunt one day
When and where?
I’ll make him into summer sausage and eat it over years
Still have 4 sticks from my last buck several years back lmao
I think it was 7 years ago actually
Archery is 08/25-09/23. I have a tag along for my rifle hunt. I’m in Colorado Springs.
@Louis Loire - NY come with next year!
I’m not currently set up to process my own animal, outside of steaks I gotta bring it to a butcher.
I also hunt birds. Grouse, ducks, geese, doves, and pheasants. I have a 6 month old pointer that will be ready to hunt this year.
I got two does last season was plenty for me. Me and my buddy have been wanting to do an elk hunt for years.
Nice man. This will be my third year going for elk. No meat yet. I’ve shot deer with my bow. And rifle deer is easy mode.
Y'all get them mule deer out there
Colorado mostly has mule deer. Some white tails that stick to river bottoms.
Do they taste/butcher any different?
They looked small when I saw them out there or at least compared to white tail.
Mule deer are pretty much the same size as the white tails here. I also think they taste just as good as white tails, which I had grown up hunting.
This thing is so sick my dudes...
Just got it the other day, tried it out...good napper.
I love Eno hammocks great product
I have an Eno double nest. Very cozy.
Did some early morning dove hunting.
