Walgreens or cvs

2017-08-27 00:24:02 UTC

Walmart

2017-08-27 00:27:41 UTC

This is one I like the best. Got at Walgreens

2017-08-27 01:33:14 UTC

Anyone online?

2017-08-27 01:33:41 UTC

What's up brother?

2017-08-27 01:34:56 UTC

I got a swollen bee sting. Should I just wait it out, or do something about it?

2017-08-27 01:36:12 UTC

Not particularly painful, but annoying to walk with because it's on my foot

2017-08-27 01:38:45 UTC

How bad is the swelling? I assume you're not allergic

2017-08-27 01:44:09 UTC

@Helbrecht - WA The side of my foot has noticeably grown, though I can still put shoes on.

2017-08-27 01:44:32 UTC

Not allergic

2017-08-27 01:46:25 UTC

Benadryl would be best. It'll slow down and stop anything that could be going on. And if you know where exactly the bee sting is a baking soda and water paste on it will draw out the bees venom which will help a lot too

2017-08-27 01:47:14 UTC

As long as your whole foot isn't swelling up and you're not having other symptoms it's nothing to be too worried about 😃

2017-08-27 01:48:56 UTC

@Helbrecht - WA Thank you

2017-08-27 01:49:24 UTC

No problem!

2017-08-27 02:09:03 UTC

Aye and ice and elevation can't hurt either

2017-08-27 02:18:09 UTC

@Deleted User Thank you too

2017-08-27 02:46:00 UTC

All of the above is great

2017-08-28 02:13:11 UTC

@everyone who will be going to an event any time soon? I'm going to be making small kits for the medics in the crowd, and an ambulance bag for the triage point/medic truck. For the higher ups, I think this would be the best way to coordinate the medic teams. C-ville was kind of a cluster-f for us, and I think we should focus on getting structured. This includes comms, universal kit setups, a point that all elements (security, etc.) Know where to take someone for medical care.

2017-08-28 02:37:05 UTC

Great idea, Joe. I know we'd be interested in those kits.

2017-08-28 02:39:40 UTC

We're working on some better concoctions to deal with injuries from bear mace, acid, and bleach.

2017-08-28 02:40:57 UTC

Our own ambulance service would be a good idea too, with a truck/van waiting to medevac someone to the nearest hospital.

2017-08-28 09:31:07 UTC

Would save our guys a good bit of cash too

2017-08-28 18:35:50 UTC

From a logistics perspective if doing a big event like cville I agree Wiley.

2017-08-28 19:45:25 UTC

@Erika can you have someone post your mace remedy in the medic lessons thread?

2017-08-28 19:54:08 UTC

@Deleted User I'll write it up tonight and send it to whoever has the ability to post in that channel.

2017-08-28 20:03:06 UTC

I need that dmed to me also if you can thanks! @Erika

2017-08-28 20:03:26 UTC

@Louis Loire - NY absolutely!

2017-08-28 21:20:00 UTC

I'm trying to find a cheap small bag guys can buy without sweating it. Any ideas on what we need in them? So far:
2x large gauze
1x tourniquet
1x bottle of saline
1x bottle of pepper spray remedy
5x 4x4 gauze
1x coban
1x tape
1x medical sheers
2x Cold packs
Bandaids
Sanitizer wipes
Alcohol preps
Anything else you guys can think of for first responders in the crowd?

2017-08-28 21:26:15 UTC

I can tell you one thing, with the amount of pepper spray I had to treat at Cville, a lot of gauze is needed. I was using so much and I didn't even treat any bloody wounds.

2017-08-28 21:29:39 UTC

ab pads or 5x9s work well for wiping off the solution and having a soaked pad to leave the patient

2017-08-28 21:41:49 UTC

^ absolutely
4x4s and cut strips of 4" gauze rolls also worked well for me

2017-08-29 17:43:57 UTC

Any doctors, PA's, RN's, or radiology professionals who would know enough about my calcaneus x-ray to tell me what it looks like to them?

2017-08-29 17:45:26 UTC

@here ☝🏻

2017-08-29 17:45:36 UTC

I'm horrified at what my surgeon told me today >.<

2017-08-29 18:14:13 UTC

The surgeon will know more than me and most here so id recommend listening to your team

2017-08-29 18:38:28 UTC

Oh I am for sure, he just made it sound like I'm doomed if I don't do this or this or this, etc

2017-08-29 18:39:15 UTC

@Phillip Wiglesworth - FL what did he say? If you're comfortable sharing.

2017-08-29 18:40:41 UTC

He might be saying avoiding surgery will lead to futher complications and permanent injury

2017-08-29 18:41:01 UTC

I'd do the surgery avoid future pain

2017-08-29 18:41:47 UTC

basically that.
