Don't worry I figured it out.
@Der Seeteufel - SD are you bringing that beauty out to CO?
I'll ask my boss, who owns it, but it doesn't do good in snow so probably not.
Is that an international?
Hopefully we won't have to worry about snow..

Ooooh
@Sonic he wants to know if you want to buy it.
@Der Seeteufel - SD oh shit haha! Well, I already have two vehicles, a motorcycle, an ATV and two trailers that keep me busy, so unfortunately, no, I'm not in the market for another vehicle. It IS beautiful though.
I doubt he'd sell it honestly. He says everything he owns is for sale for the right price, but he won't give me a number.
(even if I did want it, I don't have any room left to keep it here)
I'm honestly tempted to make an offer myself but I already have 2 pickups. I don't need another one.
Anyone here mess with car audio?
Right now my 2004 Ford has the stock AM/FM/CD radio player and 4x stock speakers. I am going to be replacing all the speakers with a 3Ω per speaker set; there are no markings on the stock speakers but I'm assuming they are standard 4Ω impedance.
I'm concerned because as-is it doesn't take much to make the stock speakers get really loud, most 90s+ music I set volume to maybe 35% and it's pretty loud. I am concerned that the new speakers will make this worse.
So in relation to this, I'm wondering if a] the stock speakers can get *louder* when they are worn out over time, causing this issue, or if b] these stock "head units" typically have a hidden gain pot. I can't check for it just yet but know there are a bunch of holes on the bottom of the unit...
All the aftermarket radios look too flashy, so I am keeping stock with a slick hidden FM hijack box for aux input.
Plus I like the retro look.
Wait..you're worried that your speakers will be too loud? 🤔As long as they're not clipping, you should be fine. I doubt there's a gain control on the factory head unit. @wolfwood
Search for the head unit gain control location online though, you might come up with something.
Yes. Don't buy anything with one. You break a seal?
Ohh no I just got a rx7 pretty much for free not running tho
Hold on, lemme grab muh popcorn
Haha
Do people swap them or nah? I don’t know anything about rhemb
What year? It's pretty easy to do an LS swap in those cars IIRC
And yeah people who want to stick with Rotary usually do the cosmo swap
Rotaries are just too much work to maintain and cost/performance ratio your better off with something else. The lack of torque is real, and real bad
83 or 85 not sure. I know it’s a first gen tho
And I’m no sure if I’ll ever do anything with it tbh i don’t know shit about cars besides simple stuff
I had never heard of rotary/wankel engines before, so I spent some time watching some videos. Very clever design. It's too bad it dumps so much fuel out the exhaust.
And they have to inject oil into the chamber to keep seals intact so you are literally burning oil, by design, and have to refill it periodically.
The Mazdas sound pretty awesome stock, but many videos seem to feature modded cars that sound like sputtering chainsaws or something.
They are different
I may try and sell it to someone who wants it being I don’t have the time or money to do anything with it
Or know how
Btw I completed the speaker replacement in my truck, and there is no more volume issue. It seems the old speakers were simply blown out that much, frequencies squishing together, that they got annoyingly loud.
The new ones are quieter, with more clarity and soundstage, so I'm content. 😃
A buddy called me and said his John Deere L110 lawn tractor shut down on him in the middle of mowing. All electrical appears to be out. At first I thought it might be a PTO safety switch, but that doesn't explain why the tractor is getting zero juice; its headlights and instrument panel won't light up. I had him charge the battery - no help. I then had him bypass the battery (12 volt) with his car battery (12 volt) - no help. I haven't looked at it myself yet but any ideas jump out at you?
Ignition switch?
