Keep that tranny fluid, mix it 50/50 with mineral oil and it's a really good penetrating fluid.

2019-02-03 23:21:49 UTC

Or kerosene. It's like a lubricating penetrating fluid.

2019-02-03 23:29:04 UTC

That’s some haggard tranny fluid

2019-02-03 23:36:08 UTC

Some background info: bought this 94 Camry early November for $900. 283K miles at the time, 287 now. Replaced timing belt, water pump, motor mounts, and fixed two leaks already. Shifting is rough when engine is cold so figured I’d flush it for good measure. Yikes.

2019-02-03 23:47:26 UTC

Good thing you did, it’s turning into syrup.

2019-02-03 23:48:17 UTC

It’s crazy how camrys can keep running with so little maintenance

2019-02-05 20:41:33 UTC

@Evan Have you since been redpilled on Kars4Kids?

2019-02-05 20:43:37 UTC

Kars4Kids [...] is a United States based 501(C)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to fund educational, developmental and recreational programs for Jewish youth and their families.
Donations to Kars4Kids benefit Oorah (Joy for Our Youth, or J.O.Y.), a national organization with a stated goal of addressing the "educational, material, emotional and spiritual needs of Jewish children and their families", and whose mission, according to CharityWatch, appears to be "to persuade secular Jewish families to take on a more Orthodox Jewish lifestyle."

i.e. they use profits from donated cars to fund trips to Israel for jewish kids

2019-02-05 20:44:47 UTC

Plus their musical adverts being a crime against humanity. It just started playing in my head writing this...

2019-02-05 20:55:39 UTC

I like to think about it as them giving me a g for a car that didn't run.

2019-02-05 21:45:49 UTC

Live and learn 😉 it's good you got a g out of it

2019-02-05 21:46:27 UTC

At least in the commercials, they're hiding what they do with the money.

2019-02-05 21:47:01 UTC

It's hard to argue with "donate your car to help kids in need"

2019-02-05 22:08:21 UTC

I probably could have gotten the same price had I taken it to an auction house event.

2019-02-05 22:09:29 UTC

Not that I know anything about auctioning a car. I only say this because that's where the G comes from, you get a rebate for the price the car is auctioned off at. So maybe you can bypass Kars4Kids.

2019-02-05 22:10:55 UTC

And donate elsewhere

2019-02-06 04:01:25 UTC

@DeusVolk How's that tranny fluid change working out?

2019-02-06 04:02:21 UTC

Well, nothing has gotten worse yet. Still needs to warm up a bit before it shifts smoothly.

2019-02-06 04:02:45 UTC

If it was to get worse, you would probably know by now.

2019-02-06 04:02:50 UTC

Not a bad sign...

2019-02-06 04:03:07 UTC

I’ll be putting 80 miles on it tomorrow, hopefully that cleans it up more.

2019-02-06 04:03:30 UTC

New place is 4 miles from my work and school so haven’t done much driving I guess.

2019-02-06 04:03:53 UTC

Nice.

2019-02-15 05:25:48 UTC

tfw the Landcruiser 70 will never be released in America

#arabspringtruck

2019-02-17 03:03:15 UTC

They still make them in Portugal and Japan for MENA and the pacific islands/aus respectively.

2019-02-17 03:04:06 UTC

They're somewhat modernized now and beautiful...

2019-02-19 04:02:20 UTC

Anybody interested in doing a gambler500 or 24 hours of lemons in maybe 2020 or 2021?

2019-02-19 12:17:34 UTC

Could be fun. My roommate does junk car races in the winter.

2019-02-25 04:23:58 UTC

@Sonic been watching alot of videos lately - how's that Tracker offroad?

2019-02-25 04:24:03 UTC

Been looking into one.

2019-02-25 04:30:04 UTC

It's great man, there's really not much I can't get through in it. Fully stock with aggressive tires. It's light with a short wheel base, no bottoming out or getting high centered. Obviously, major rock crawling would cause a few issues with it being stock, but my co worker has a 2" lift with larger wheels/tires and he takes his '96 crawling all the time.

2019-02-25 04:32:13 UTC

I've been off-roading a couple times with him, and never ran into any issues. She's a little beast. And, relatively easy to work on too. @Papa Pizzagate Coworker usually airs down his tires when we go into the mountains, but I don't touch mine. I've even done some creek crossings in it (about 2' deep) fully stock. The off-road world loves Trackers.

2019-02-25 04:39:10 UTC

Yeah, that's what I thought. I would look into a moderate lift and better wheels/tires

2019-02-25 05:01:51 UTC

Even though they are nearly identical cars, I like the look of the Suzuki Sidekick better and would prefer to buy one of them

2019-02-26 19:30:58 UTC

They're almost identical. All the parts in the tracker are Suzuki parts. In fact, they even share the same Chilton/Haynes manual.

2019-02-26 22:11:08 UTC

Yeah, I am aware. Just like most of the lines/paint jobs on the zooks a bit more

2019-03-02 22:06:57 UTC

Recently when I take a sharp turn in my car, like around a traffic circle my engine starts sounding harsh, and I can replicate it at will. My thought is that it's time for new oil, but I'm not certain.

2019-03-02 22:07:18 UTC

Does anyone have an idea of what it could be?
